Sprint isn't treating its mvno like redheaded step children anymore getting flagship's a year after they were released? Softbank must know how to play ball in the us field

Which is what I'm waiting for. New rumors are it'll have a octa-core Snapdragon 810. Which is the rumors for the Nexus 6 also.

If the nexus 6 is sexy it will be on my radar. So far all I want is the moto X or a high end Sony phone with an unlockable boot loader

For the 5 months I've had my Note 3 so far it's been unrooted and it's the 1st phone I've had that I didn't root within an hour of getting home with it. Just don't feel the need for it. I'd consider the Nexus 6 if it was the size of the Note 4 which is probably unlikely.

last year i was eagerly waiting for the note 3. i used to show up in this forum just to read that section. somehow i ended up with nexus 5. because of specs, price point and minimal bloatware. it is my first nexus. the decision was heavily influenced from my use of rooted samsung prevail on boost. i got to use it with and without a custom rom. a decent entry level phone killed by samsung and boost bloatware. it is still working fine with only 512 MB ram.
let me just say IMO once you use a nexus, its very hard to go back to other phones. if the rumor about nexus 6 and note 4 having similar specs are true again and i can afford it, it probably will be a nexus again. :D

I have never owned a flagship ever. Only low end or old devices one was even on froyo. How much difference is flagship compared to a mid ranger

how did you get to 512MB's of ram in your prevail? it had 384 minus what the system used.

There are going to be a lot that will Say they disagree with me (and I'll wonder if they REALLY do) but you also know just how little that concerns me I'm sure.

Dee my good man, believe me, it just ain't All That.

Any strong midrange phone is all anyone really needs. Any more performance than that and they're just being geeky. I haven't been able to do one damn thing with the N4 that I couldn't have with my Spirit except wireless charging. (And yes, for me, that IS Very Nice) Still I think the inner case charging wart for the Spirit is about $20 on The Bay.

It's just like posting pics of 70 Mps. No One NEEDS 70 Mps. A LOT of a flagship is just being able to say you have it and having your fellow geeks notice it when you're out.

Factory bloat isn't So Much of a problem if you have a good amount of memory and storage to start with. Say what you will, but I Do Miss having My Metro on my phone.

Dee if you're getting a strong HSPA+ where you are now and are happy with what you have now, keep it, you'll be fine.

Thanks Bruce I will be sure to keep that advice in mind as long as it does what I need that is how I should pick them how I ended up with this thing 😂

bruce is correct in that now a days midrange devices are still more than enough. i personally own the samsung galaxy light, its 150 bucks with lte and an sdcard (why i picked it over teh moto g. and it has teh quad core exynos cpu that i absolutely hate in it (as a dev) but its nice and for 150 bucks its a hell of a phone.

in years gone by the difference was MASSIVE but IMO many phones are over powered nowadays. we dont need 4k screens or super wyfeyes, we need better battery, better system management (i dont want to have jitters in a quad core phone thats silly). people need to stop worrying about how will this phone run in comparison to the phone by the other guy and wonder how well will your phone run with the screen on max brightness? can it last a day with heavy usage? youve managed to avoid buying an iphone just because everyone else is doing it, why bother getting teh s5 because everyone else is?

I agree on the battery Shabby.

OTOH, you can get 2 of the RavPower wireless chargers for what a major maker branded one cost, one for work, one for where you are most of the time at home.

The RavPower is about 1/2" longer than the N4 and that 1/2" is the only area on the charger where having the phone there Won't charge. It's not particular at all where you place the phone.

So for about $55 the battery issue is "solved". Everytime you set the phone down at home or work, it's charging. If there is an operational downside it's that at the reduced charge compared to a wired charger, you can't really tether and wireless charge at the same time. Tether eats up too much juice.

And, I think you can put the charger wart in Any android phone that isn't already equipped for wireless charging.

You guys are right I just got my S4 and don't get me wrong it's an awesome phone very quick and a great display but I also just bought my girlfriend the LG f6. After playing with it a little I think for the price difference if I had to do it again I might have just bought the f6.

I been feeling that way for a while my matrix HD on KitKat would run cubes around everyone else's phones note 2s would never match my atrix in fluidity and after the maxx battery I could last All day it was half of the phone at a quarter of the price of their flagship but it was more than just adequate, can't thank bliss enough for busting that boot loader its why I will try to support unlock able ones which why moto x us on my radar

i agree with shabby and bruce about a good midrange phone being enough. if you are into heavy mobile gaming and hi- def video only then the flagship phone sets itself apart. nexus 5 is a 400$ phone that is almost equal to note 3 in hardware specs that roughly cost 700$ (last year). being vanilla android means its more responsive. i was willing to go with it rather than note 3. i can not believe i am saying this but it is a pleasure to watch 720p videos in a 5" screen!! i gotta try it with 1080p videos. my laptop is 17" 1080P.
i saw some users who were waiting for 3 GB ram in S5 grumbling, but i have yet to pass 1 GB mark on nexus 5.
if you want to be geeky (having a flagship phone :) ) without breaking the bank, nexii are hard to beat.

Yall will enjoy this.

Mr. Slow Adopter here .:D

Just last weekend I shot the first phone vid I've ever shot. In HD 1080 even and zapped that puppy to Das You Tuber[1] Full HD in and out on a phone, a $200 phone, does ROCK! (It actually came out pretty good too.) While the actual viewing area of the N4 is a hair shorter than the Spirit, the N4 has a noticeably wider screen which also helps.

[1] Hey, it's not Every Day you get to shoot footage of a cattle drive going down your town's Mainstreet, even if that town IS Slocala. Plus I was close enough that Trigger brushed my arm as he trotted by. :)

Woah wait, whats all this bashing on flagship phones?
Dont get me wrong although some of the points said here are somewhat valid. I just cant stand when people just bash on a state of the art device with the latest technology(even if its an unpractical dick hair counter recognition sensor) just because...just because, well if i gave that same exact person that same device for free, they'd have completely different things to say about it, in fact, it would all of the sudden be 'the shit' and that same person who looked for a thousand and one negative things to say about it, would find a thousand and two good things to say and brag about the device he now owns... The point im making here is that:
1.) The phone is a good phone therefore i would like to own it,
and
2.) I can afford the phone and i will buy it since i want it
Are 2 completely different and independent ideas, and should be treated as such...

A phone isnt 'good' because you own it... you own it because its a good phone and because you could afford it and obviously liked it enough to choose it considering all other opportunity costs(Phones).
Similarly a phone isnt 'bad' because dont own it. You dont own it because you either cant afford it, or you simply chose another type of phone that you liked more, or a combination of both.
Point in case is just dont become this 'hater' of something in this case a phone just because you dont have it... 'hate' or more like dislike it because you really do dislike the actual device, and if i went to give you the phone at no cost you'd either turn it down or take it just to turn right back around and flip it to buy the device you truly want.

Thats like me sitting here whining and bashing on a South beach condo just because i cant afford it...then the minute i win the lottery it magically stops 'sucking'... No, if im gonna sit here and bash on a south beach condo its only valid if i genuinely hate Miami weather and cant stand all the population so if i won the lottery that would be the last place im buying real estate period, thats a valid argument, a valid reason to bash on something..

you just cant hate from outside of the club if you cant even get in...or you could.. but you'd look like an idiot while youre at it.

A phone's a phone and its gonna remain to be that same exact device and have all of its features, and just function...independent of whether you like it or not...if you can afford it or not...if you can use it or not...or if it gets outdated or not, thats what it comes down to.
I'll take valid criticism and bashing from the guy who bought the S4 and wasnt satisfied with the screen size so he got the Note 3, but realized it was too big for him, then got the iPhone 5S because everybody likes apple, and then hated it and bought the Lumia 1020 just for its camera, didnt like interface and ended up buying a used 2 year old Galaxy Nexus and fell inlove with it and never looked back...He would be one to talk shit about owning flagship phones and just being so unsatisfied and butthurt towards owning one...

Find whats best for you and stick with it and that applies to everything smartphones, mobile providers, cable providers, even a wife.
if you cant afford a $600 phone then you cant afford it... but that within itself doesnt make the phone a 'bad' phone.. that simple

Do you need 4K screens, octa-core processors, and 14 Megapixel cameras?
if you do then awesome grab yourself the phone that best suits your needs and go on with your life, if you dont then same thing...just find whats best for you and go on with your life...if its not for you for whatever reason then its not for you...nothing bad with that. But dont be so quick to bash and judge the guy with the latest phone when he can easily turn back around and laugh at your mediocre spec'd phone from last year, or last quarter or last month

Technology moves quickly....yes its all a business...they just want your money...spend it wisely....find yourself whats best for you...what you need...what makes you most satisfied....so you dont end up butthurt on an online forum bashing on a phone you've never even owned...with an inferior phone in your pocket.
