I found a better priced option for those who want the S5 but dont want to spend S5 money

I recently acquired the Sony Xperia Z1s, so far, it has been quite nice, it's better on reception and battery then my current S4, and for the money, it does just about as much as the S5 minus the fingerprint scanner, so if thats not something you need, this may be a good option for some folks.

I went with the LG G2 a few months ago for $600. Very expensive but i am so happy with it. Incredible battery life and very fast. I will get the LG G4 when it comes out in a couple of years. Who knows maybe the Note 4 when it comes out. Two years is a long time for a phone geek like me.

Marquis Brownlee on YouTube didn't think the regular Z1 was all that. He said the waterproofing ports are a PIA and the speakers suck. Screw that.

Since they've already reached the real needed limits with phone specs they should start perfecting what's there, like REAL, better, speakers. I'd be surprised if you can patent simply the Location of the speakers. (That's like saying I can patent having a car engine in the front.) Assuming it's legal, every company that comes out Without dual front facing speakers are dropping the ball IMO.

I'd get in any line for an unbranded Android with dual front speakers and fight my way to the front for one with Nexus like pricing from The Google.

I watch mkbhd as well Erica Griffin I still like the device despite its short coming but won't buy a locked bootloader at that price Z2 aims to fix all that ailes minus speaker

the z1 is an older device and the z2 is something to look more to. especially since the z1s has a locked bootloader.

I want the z2 only with unlocked boot loader I have a tl on the way but for 120 I will grab it locked boot loader and all

Erica's phone reviews on you tube are by far the most extensive reviews. Usually over an hour long and she covers EVERYTHING. Very non biased also goes into each review with an open mind. Only problem is she only reviews flagships. Wish she would do more phones, but deff +1 on the reccomendation of her videos.

She IS NOT unbiased.

She readily admits herself to be a IPhanGirl and that DOES seep through into her reviews.

Hello all,

First time posting but have been reading the forum for a while now.
Didn't want to make a new thread to ask but I have a couple questions about the Z1 for anyone who would like to help :)

I'm coming from owning an S4 which suited my needs pretty well, I just recently sold it to a friend because. I was interested in the S5 coming out in the next few weeks but hearing about this Z1 has me very intrigued instead of the S5.

I live in CA and signed up with Metro a couple months ago. If I were to purchase the Z1, would all I need to do is insert the sim card and be ready to use? I'm not sure if it's that easy.. I'll be very honest, I'm not all that knowledgeable about Smartphones. Every phone I've owned was a CDMA type. Do I need to get any kind of codes to activate Metro's 4G LTE service on it?

I was looking at on Amazon and found one for 565, do you think there another site with a better price?

Would waiting for the Xperia z2 be wise? Looks like it's being released this month.

I'm just looking for the latest and greatest to last the next few years. Thank you also to the OP for sharing about this phone, I never heard about it before.

Thank you,

Ashley

If you haven't noticed the fawning of her voice when she mentions Apple then YOU are watchin the wrong reviews.
