Help Youtube share defaults to messaging app

snsjosh

Lurker
I can no longer share a Youtube video via any app other than the stock messaging app on my Motorola Droid Maxx. This includes Facebook, Twitter, etc. I've tried clearing defaults in Messaging and Youtube but no luck. Any advice would be greatly apprecaited.

Go into settings / apps. There is a menu control in the top right. Tap it, then "Reset app preferences". That should take care of it.

My Hero! I don't know how the heck I didn't know about that feature. I've tried to manually do it on the individual apps and had no luck. You saved the day!

Actually, you can do it by individual apps: Settings>Apps>(open the desired App)>Scroll down to Launch by Default>Clear Defaults.

That should work, but there is a bug in the droid kitkat build that prevents it from always working. (I think it happened on the nexus and play edition 4.4 builds, too.) The way I posted above always does fix the problem.

In that case, good to know!
