I have an unlocked Nexus 5 from Google.. I tried to get some metropcs services (visual voicemail, etc.) they said I couldn't do it because it wasn't from Metro.. Is this true.. ?

Check the ask store after you have a metro sim... I couldn't use T-Mobile apps until their sim was in..

That would be right, normally you can't use one carrier's apps if you're using another carrier's service. Because they're relying on a something that's only available on that carrier's network. e.g. carrier exclusive sports news apps. Friend of mine had a phone with Vodafone Live multimedia on it, that app did not work on China Unicom.
