Help [VZW] Activating Moto X Developer Edition on Verizon

Unforgiven

...eschew obfuscation...

I have a Moto X Developer Edition arriving tomorrow and had some questions on activating it with Verizon. I purchased it outright from Motorolla so I can keep my unlimited plan. It indicates that it will come with a sim. Do I just have to call the *228 to activate it like my GNex or will I have to get on the line with VZW customer service.

I just went in to the 'my account' page on Verizon's site, clicked 'activate or switch device' and followed the prompts.
You really just enter the SIM number and IMEI number, power your old phone off and the new one on. Easy-peasy.

Wow, it's that easy. Makes me feel better. I have always had success with VZW online support, I'm not keen on going into the stores. My experience activating my wife's S3 was very unpleasant, but I needed to get an LTE sim. I guess that's the difference.

I avoid the stores at all cost!! I've activated multiple phones online, it truly is that easy and quick. All the information you'll need is right on the box, just copy it carefully and you should be good to go. The SIM is pre-installed so you don't even have to muck with that :)

I always go to the store. I have found that every store has ONE person who really knows what he/she is doing. The key is to find THAT person in your store and always go to him/her.

Welcome to the Moto X team Pup, I didn't get the Dev edition as I needed something a quick replacement as I switch carriers, which reminds me I need to change my device info which I will do in a sec. But I am a Samsung device man at heart, although I loved my Note II, I prefer something a little smaller, though I find the Moto X nice and comfortable I prefer something a little in between the 2. but for now this will surmise. So far impress with it's little power, you will enjoy.

Yeah, I'm beating the hell out of the refresh button on the browser with tracking information.:p

My order did not go smoothly either, ordered on Thursday, got a "canceled" email on Friday, called them, they checked info said everything looked fine, would get back to me.
Called again on Monday and somehow it was good to go again and had been shipped, and then he says it was delivered, to Chicago ... I'm in California.
After a few apologies another was sent and I got it yesterday morning, after 2-3 system updates all is well. :thumb:

So, having my engine blow up into a million little pieces on the way home from FedEx aside, my X is activated. Um, Motorola Migrate.😍

So far, so good on the phone. The Kit-kat OTA is installing now -- goodbye colored notifications.:(

After that I'll peel off the factory film on the screen protector and apply apply the one I purchased. Compared to my GNex, this thing rocks. I still don't know why Moto decided to ship it to me in this box:

What clock widget is that Don?

I knew you would ask that, LOL

"One More Clock" install and make sure once installed that you click to install all themes, once that is done, go to the theme called Turnpike. ;)

Yep, for me it is still a learning in process, I'm still use to my Note II screen size, so getting use to the smaller screen will take some time, LOL

But what I do like, is this one I'm not rooting, so don't have to keep following up on Roms, and setting up my phone on a weekly basis, LOL I may start jonesing, but will deal with it. Thus why I made myself take the 4.4.2 update to resist the temptation, LOL
