Help Emails Remain After Downloaded in Outlook

gapi

Android Expert
This is my only complaint about the Nexus 5.

On my old Galaxy Nexus using the Android Email app, the messages would appear as normal.
After Outlook had downloaded my emails, and set to delete them from the server afterwards, to the desktop PC the Android email apk would refresh and they would wipe from the phone.
I like this.
In other words, if Outlook seen them first the phone never would see it. This way when I leave the house I decide rather or not to leave Outlook running.

Now with the Nexus 5 if it downloads emails they remain even after Outlook downloads them and deletes them from the server.
No matter what email app I try, Android Email, K9, AqualMail, Enhanced Email, I have to delete them, I sync will not reflect whats on the server.

It sounds like you have you email clients on the phone set up for pop3 rather than Imap. In pop3, once things are downloaded, they are downloaded. Imap reflects the state of the server. Imap is usually chosen by default when you let an email client set up an account automatically.

I don't have this problem (I use Aquamail, but it shouldn't matter which client). My Outlook is set up to use Pop3, but not to delete from server. I do that manually using the Gmail web interface, but Aquamail always reflects these changes on refresh.

BAM-O! Thanks!

I followed your lead and Google landed me HERE to request Comcast to migrate my servers to IMAP.

There is a Comcast post about it HERE .

This was fantastic news.
I have three emails with them. The first primary immediately migrated.
The other two said it will be 24 hours.

I then went and changed my Outlook primary account settings for IMAP.
I'm elated.

I have tried them all in the past weeks but ended up liking AquaMail Pro the best. Now its even better.

Thanks
