Mods Disabling "Android Os" to use mobile data [Root only]

Hello everyone !

I have a problem that may have been addressed many times before. I do apologize, but the search didn't bring me needed answers. I also apologize for any bad english.

Here is the deal :
I am concerned with the "background data" the android os transfers via my mobile internet.
I rooted the phone, cleared all the useless .apk's from /system/app folder (even removed google play and as much of google stuff as i could), installed DroidWall and set very strict firewall rules ...
And still when i open data usage in settings menu, i see "android os" transfered 6.6mb in past 20 days. WHAT is that stuff ?!

I only use internet for stock e-mail, naked browser, internet radio, and wolfram alpha. Only those 4 applications should ever use the internet. I wish that not a single byte of data is ever EVER transfered besides the needs of these 4 applications. I do not want "Android Os" or any other background process connecting to any server on the internet "behind my back".

I am not very experienced in android os. But if it is required, i will learn how to flash another rom, to cook rom, learn and do anything i can to take COMPLETE control of the bandwith, if it is possible. Is it ? If it is, the main question and the reason i posted this thread is : HOW ? Just please do not assure me that that data is nothing to worry about, or ask me why do i care. If you can say nothing about solution, you can not help me.

The device is 2011 Xperia Pro (mk16i) and android version is 4.0.4

Thanks in advance !

Hello and welcome TO the forums . I think one problem is that the droid wall isn't working if I am not speaking the truth someone can stop me but the droid wall wasn't for use in the 4.0 til now .

Nahhh I just been told it works . can I ask did you flush the settings and wipe the cache . and you say u have a problem with DATA .

Thank you,

Android System is disabled in droidwall, as well as many other applications. Other applications are successfully blocked, but somehow Android System bypasses it. I do not want "Android System" to use any internet (neither wifi nor mobile). That is all. By mobile data i meant 3g internet.

First, why does it matter, thats a third of a megabyte per day? Second of all, you can't. The android system, checks for updates to software etc. periodically, so it always will. This is true for any rom. there always will be background usage. But 6.6mb? Come on.

It doesn't matter why does it matter. I just want to have it disabled. I understand that i cant do that by enabling/disabling some setting, and that is why i posted this into system mods, scripts and hacks section. Is it possible to somehow remove system components that perform these update checks etc. ? Cook rom without them ? Anything ? I am looking for 0 bytes transmitted by android system.

As a wise man once said -ltfc- and figure out how its doing it. But really 6.6mbs? You're tripping off of that then running other big apps will surely plunder your butt.

Use a logcat and determine the cause. Then go and get a "lucky" program that will "patch" apks. The reason for the program I'd cause it can remove components from apks

Or open settings data usage restrict background data. Then get that crap waste of ram droid wall (really) off your phone and get avast full version. Give it su permission. Activate firewall. Set it to black list then set settings to firewall takes highest priority then set all apps or custom each. Boom. -.- but really. 20 days. 6.6mb id say you did what you wanted. That's tiny. Droid wall....... Bahahaha

And also. No. You'll never stop the os from transmitting anything without screwing your phone or os up. It actually does matter why you would want to do this. To better help and understand. What , you on a 500mb a month plan or something. Lol

I understand what you want.
I have been trying to do it for a few days now.
I have instaled few different firewalls (NO ROOT).What happens is firewalls are using some background data and that data is actually used by "Android OS".If I disable background data for Firewall in Settings, firewall cant work.
I was thinking of rooting my phone and trying with root Firewall like Droidwall but now I see its useless just like the rest of the firewalls.
Android OS is spying paradise. You cant get control over the system.Your every move is stored somewhere on servers.

Here is one thought, probably you could block it trough proxy, or some firewall app that let you block connection to specific ip (good luck in capturing which ip/ips it connects to), but i do not know way to do it.
