New Nexus

Anyone excited to see if they are going to announce the new nexus at Google IO this week? Are you gonna trade up your current nexus device to get it or just stick with what you have?

I love my Nexus 5, I'm good for right now. I am curious, I've heard they are not going with LG

The rumor is that they'll announce a new nexus tablet, but I believe there's no chance of a phone. We haven't seen anything regarding a new Nexus phone at this point.

I'm hoping they hint at one (new Nexus) and release it later in the year. Hoping its a metal water proof phone.

I'm ready for that moto 360 watch. Or some other watch that looks great and hopefully has a great battery life. Would make things like fitness tracking and changing songs much easier.

Like Badutahboy said, Google stopped announcing Nexus phones at I/O a couple of years ago, and in any case the Nexus 6 (if it arrives) will likely remain in cycle of a winter release.

As far as I know the no more Nexus and Silver stories are still unconfirmed and last time LG said they weren't making a Nexus, they made a Nexus...

I hope they bring out silver so i can get a good reliable vanilla'ish mobile experience.I'd love my N5 if it worked properly.

Not expecting to see a new Nexus phone anytime soon, I do expect to see a tablet announced.

Considering the support the Nexus 10 got I don't think it'll be another of that size, more likely the rumoured HTC Nexus 8 or 9 (depending what rumours you read/hear)

I'm excited anyway, I've been considering a new tablet and the 10 is a bit unweildy although I still love it.

I'm most excited to hear more about the watches. I'm happy with my N5 and I expect I will continue using it till it dies (or till google stops supporting it... here's hoping it doesn't become another galaxy nexus)

There won't be a new nexus phone announced at I/O. Confidence on thats about as high as you can get with these things. Any new nexus phones are announced in the fall.

Chance of a nexus 8.9" HTC tablet - but most people seem to think that will coincide with the "L" release of android, which those same people also dont expect at I/O.

We'll likely see the launch of android wear with watches from LG, Moto, and maybe a new one from samsung. I'd also like to see something with android in cars since theres a new open automotive alliance. Also wouldn't be surprised to see something in the home automation fronts as well as automotive.

Edit: And since this I/O has a focus on design - we should expect to see some things there as well.

One flaw of that article is the author claiming that new versions of Android are only released in the fall. As far as named versions of Android, Jellybean was announced at I/O in 2012 (along with the first Nexus 7); and while not a named version, 4.3 was announced at I/O last year.

True - the analysis isn't entirely correct, but the important part was what the source actually said :)

I guess my problem is that I start questioning how solid their sources are when they get details like that wrong. Though I've suspected for quite a while that we'd get either 4.5 or 5.0 announced during I/O; as I pointed out, there is almost always a new Android version announced.

Fair enough. Especially so when the source isnt named. However, in this case they're talking to the head of android. I'd say that's a solid source. ;)

Based on what he said, we'll get a sneak peak now and a likely release in the fall

Well I really enjoyed all that came out of i/o. I will be buying the samsung gear watch and installing the preview of L in a few hours when it hits there website.

I recently spent $129 on the Martian Notifier watch. Had it 2 weeks. I like it. No, it is not waterproof.
