Swipe up for Google Now?

Hi - firstly let me say, I love this phone. I've had it about 3 weeks now and it's phenomenal. I came from nexus 4 and was originally reluctant to move from stock android, but actually barely miss it at all.

Anyway - one thing I used a lot on the nexus was the swipe up to open google now. On the G2 it seems the only way I can do this is by swiping up and to the left (if I use my right thumb). Up and to the right opens quick memo. Is there any way of changing this so i can just do a straight upwards swipe? I've had a look through as many different settings as i could find and can't see anything. The up and to the left thing just isn't coming naturally to me, even 3 weeks later.

Just a small gripe really, nothing major at all but would appreciate if anyone knows if or how I could change this? thanks

Not sure how to change it but if I swipe straight up I get google now. Not sure what carrier you're on but on vzw this is how mine is.

I've attached a screenshot to show what I'm getting when I swipe up. I'm on the 3 network in the UK, if that makes any difference?

Do you have Voice Mate disabled? That should be the in the left position and Google at the top, if it is disabled, enable it and reboot, should be in the correct position now.

thanks for this, I think you may be right - I vaguely remember seeing a youtube video with that. Only problem now, is that i don't seem to have Voice Mate on my phone! If it's there, it's very well hidden. Should it just be in the app drawer?
