After 4.4.2 - can I turn off Google's remembering?

After the 4.4.2 update, the search box on Google remembers every single previous search!! There's a link to clear it - but it only clears the last three or four. Is there a setting to completely turn off this Google remembering everything?

Go to the apps drawer, Google, then touch menu, settings, accounts and privacy.
There you can turn off web history and erase old history.

I went to the apps, opened both Google and Google Settings, and verified that everything about remembering is already off. I've also checked my phone settings and verified that everything I can find is already turned off. Yet the Google home page remembers everything I type in. I can clear it there, but only three at a time. Or I can delve into Settings and Clear the history, which is a royal pain.

Would rather just turn it all off!!

Go to this page and click on "Web History Help"...It explains how to make Google stop remembering your search history.

https://history.google.com/history/

You can delete all of your past searches from your Search History.

  1. Visit your Search History page at google.com/history.
  2. In the top right corner of your Search History page, click the gear

    > Settings.
  3. Click Delete all, then click the Delete all button to confirm.
You can turn off your Search History to prevent future searches from being saved to your Search History.

  1. Visit your Search History page at google.com/history.
  2. In the top right corner of your Search History page, click the gear

    > Settings.
  3. Click Turn off.

Everything was already off, as far as I could tell. I did delete the history - we'll see what happens now.

Thanks for the boost!
(Next project: find how to clear the fave icons for my bookmarks!!)
