Car charger

Hey there,

What should I be looking at when buying a car charger for the Nexus 5? I've heard some chargers don't charge the battery enough when constantly using say a GPS..

So I'm not looking at a brand, but rather asking at what kind of stats should I look when choosing a charger if there are any?

Thanks

The output of the amps. You want a minimum of 1 amp (1000 mA) to charge with the screen OFF.

To have your screen in use, the higher the better: 2.4, 3.1, 4.2 etc.

Also, be careful of dual. Some of them split the charge evenly regardless of use. So, a 2.4 would send 1.2 to each USB port.

Sorry I'm a total noob, but what do you mean by "dual"?

Some car chargers have two USB ports (dual ports), so that you can charge two devices at once. On some devices, they split the charge evenly between the two ports; in others, one will be a 2A port and the other a 1A. The second is better, as you can use the 2A port to charge your Nexus.
