The OFFICIAL US LG G3 Thread!!!

The sound is quite loud/clear/undistorted.Loud & clear enough for speakerphone calls,no problem.

Also, the speaker placement is an improvement on the G2,as holding in the horizontal does not obstruct the speaker.

This is as good as any rear-mounted speaker I've come across,if not the best.
Of course, there's no comparison to the M7-M8 dual front-firing speakers.

HTC has the entire field beat,hands-down.

which version of the firmware is on your G3?

Did you root it?

Speaking only for myself, this experience of buying and evaluating the G3 has caused me to reflect back and be reminded just how easy it is to get sucked into the negative "this is wrong, and that's bad so I wouldn't ever buy one" mentality of those who post in advance of the phone's release.

Or those who are "in store 5 minute testers", comparing well worn demo phones and declaring the latest phone unacceptable.

As a result I often end up looking for the faults they may or may not have experienced... That is until it occurred to me yesterday when I stepped back and said to myself "wait a minute", perhaps these people have an agenda, since I'm not experiencing these so called "deal breakers".

So anyway here I am on day three with my LG G3 which is performing in an exemplary fashion. In fact I can already tell at this early juncture that even for my resource intense work and high expectations, this phone is most certainly a keeper.

Thanks LG! :)

Thanks zipred. That's what I wanted to hear :D

Glad to hear your loving your G3 so far and agree with you on many fronts.

As with any new product, its the honeymoon stage which gets us most excited about a product good or bad. After a few months with said product our true feelings and experiences emerg. This is a perfect time to review your experience with the product again. I find these types of reviews the most helpful as most initial reviews and complaints are mostly user error. Until a device has been truly tested by time, to me initial reviews are subject to some speculation.

What they had before was just two year contracts, though.

but if u were silver Premiere (and before that, just the primary account on a family plan), you got to upgrade every year, so it translated to only having a 1 year extension, for each upgrade.

Huh? I never had that, and I was the primary account holder on a family plan. I got to upgrade every two years, or at least sixteen months. Not that I don't believe you, but I'm just saying the options you are talking about were never, ever presented to me. I never got perks of any sort, unless you count the fact that eventually they lifted the stipulation for me to pay $50 when adding a new line.

Dunno what to tell you, except sorry you didn't get it, but I have been with Sprint since 1999. My upgrades to the Motorola Photon and Note 2 were based on the 1 year upgrade. The 2 year extension from the Photon, basically just added 1 year from the extension i made with the evo 2 year commitment. The Note 2 upgrade was 1 more year from when the Photon contract would have ended.

Here is info when the program was premiere silver and gold. Now that I think about it, before it went away, I was actually Premiere Gold. Before they had names, the upgrade program was every year eligibility without a specific name to the program.

As I said, I believe you. I was a customer from 2010 to January of this year. Maybe that's why all of this is news to me. I'm thinking this gold premiere stuff just wasn't available when I joined. I don't know. But never at any time was it offered.

Oh, that is why you never got it. It was for either long term customers or for certain plans (higher pricing). For family plans, had to be the 2nd tier plan and individual needed the 99 unlimited everything.

Back when I was with Sprint (I left in 2010) I was a Sprint Premier member.

That's what it was. Initially, it was just "Premier" then they added the silver or gold tag, afterwards.

Nonetheless, it was still the best offering that Sprint had out of all their "early upgrade" deals. And the 25% off accessories, I definitley miss, because Sprint had a lot of the OEM accessories I wanted for my Photon.

That explains it! Plus, I had iffy credit, at the time. They weren't giving me platinum ANYTHING until I had proven myself! :-P

Yeah, I remember when new people were joining up on Sprint and weren't able to get it. That's too bad because it seriously was the best offering. All they needed to do was tweak it to have an option of either subsidized or full price. The every year upgrade was perfect because it still allowed a device to hold a little value, when trying to sell it back after 1 year. Selling the device (or trading it in) was an easy way to pay for another subsidized upgrade or use it towards a full price upgrade (if one didn't want to go with subsidized).

I couldn't agree more! I have had it since Friday right when they opened I picked up a white one! I am loving this phone! I am coming from the S5 and I must say so far the camera has really blown it out of the water. :)

As they say there's always an exception to the rule.

In this case I'm the exception. Reason being I buy a minimum of four new flagship Android's per year, each on its own dedicated line, year after year. If anything I'm a bit jaded, yet I enjoy my new Smartphones, Tablets and Laptops.

Variety, a burning desire to remain up to date, and a passion for the tools that I use in my career, drives my enthusiasm. That said I'm not easily impressed and days of the honeymoon period died a decade ago.

While I read the rumors and reviews, the only thing that matters to me is how it does in my workflow. A heavy user that taxes the device, I usually know quite soon how well it performs. Sometimes things are revealed during long term use, but that's shrinking rapidly as quality continues to improve.

Long, long time ago when I was young and poor, I spent incredible $6000.00 on my first PC with the huge 250MB HDD and 8MB RAM.

Yeah, you've heard it right.

I am not going to mention my ROI here though :D

You rule, man, go for it!

For those of you on verizon and are familiar with the Galaxy 3, is it the same size Sim Card. Hoping I can just swap the cards and use it on my line. Used another line to order the phone for the upgrade.

I thought VZW required that the phone be activated on the line used for the upgrade within 30 days?

If it's a family plan, I would be surprised if they didn't allow the phone to be swapped to a different number under the same account. Sprint has no issues with that happening, even if it's the same day that the phone is transferred to a different line.
