Okay so I tried rooting this phone using CF-Auto-Root-d2spr-d2spr-sphl710.tar.md5 and all went well the odin program said pass and the phone rebooted with the new custom ROM and then I tried opening super user and it just crashed and then I downloaded root checker from the play store and it said I wasn't rooted and then also my 3G connection doesn't work but my wifi does, so i'm lost as what to do please help!

You flashed the ROM for sprint. You need to flash the virgin mobile one. You can flash this one in custom recovery (philz touch recovery) http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=6595566
Then if your data doesn't work, flash the APN fix here http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=6516416
Hopefully you used Odin to flash custom recovery. If not, you need to do that to flash Roms.
Here is the link to philztouch recovery https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/d2lte/philz_touch_6.48.4-d2lte.zip flash it in Odin then use the recovery to flash the first two zips I linked. After you Odin recovery, boot into recovery , from power off, hold power, home and volume up. Install zips from there

don't i have to flash the NDC update first? can anyone link a video on how to do all this because i don't see any of the .tar files just the META-INF folders

Okay I installed the APN fix and waited the recommended amount of time and still no luck it wont load on LTE / CDMA but will load on CDMA. So im at a loss of what to do maybe unroot? would that fix it ? need help asap thanks!

Sorry but didn't get notified. Did you do a dirty flash?
Or it might be that the NDC modem lags it in your area. Look at previous threads regarding that issue.

dirty flash? not familiar with the term sorry. :/ can you link me to previous thread. Also thanks a bunch for the help !

Actually my bad when I didn't link you there in the first place. A dirty flash occurs when you (the user) doesn't wipe cache or dalvik cache on your device and flashes directly.

Here is the link even though there are other complaints. It works just the same for me so I don't notice the difference.

Only liked because gave credit to both.

Haha.

Actually, it'd be nicer to keep the thread, just mark as resolved. That way should another person need it, it's easily archived.
