Root [Virgin Mobile] Need some help S3 4.1-4.3

Hi I rooted and flashed my phone when I first got it. It has been working great but I have finally grown tired of the pop up about the update to 4.3 and want to flash it from 4.1 to 4.3. The thing is I don't remember exactly how I did it and not sure if their is anything new I would have to do to go from 4.1-4.3

I know that I used the method in Midnightrom the first time i did it almost a year ago and used the rom from MG2_Ryder

After reading through the forums all morning it seams that allot of people are running 4.4. I guess their was another update after the 4.3 that Virgin released OTA . From what I can tell I have to flash to the SPH_L710 MK5 modem then wipe Cache, System, Data and flash new rom like normal but not sure as to what Rom to use or if I have to go from 4.1-4.3-4.4+ or just skip to 4.4+. I was looking at MidnightRom (used in the past) but the post does not look its been kept up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I have CWM-based Recovery v6.0.28 installed currently.

To run 4.4 you need to have the Knox bootloader and modem but you will not be able to downgrade once your Knox up

Thanks for the replies. I ended-up just clearing systems and cash and flashed 4.3 stock no knox with all the wifi and su fixes with the newer modem. I forgot how much Crapware is on these things!

However now i still have the update in the notification bar 379.4Mb and I can't seem to get rid of it.

That's the 4.4 update notification. You're either going to have to update (you have to use Odin to flash that update) or you can block the update notification: http://androidforums.com/boost-mobi...260-how-stop-4-3-mk5-update-notification.html

Thanks for the info. How do I update it to a 4.4 rom preferably one with less bloat on it? I have read through the newb guide but that sounds like if you all ready have knox. I did everything in the http://androidforums.com/virgin-mob...exed-deodexed-virgin-mobile-boost-mobile.html I chose Stock deodexed and not sure how to get to 4.4 from where I am currently at.
CWM-based Recovery v6.0.28 installed currently.

Thanks do you have a link to that kernel? I have had some audio issues today with calls. I will keep 4.3 for tonight or maybe this week as I am tired and don't want to screw it up.

Thanks I flashed that kernel going to test it today. So for me to get 4.4 I have to go back to pure stock 4.4 first (recovery and rom) then re flash a newer recovery then a new rom? Also asop rom has a nice ring to it would not mind giving cm11+ a shot or carbon.

If you want to run Touchwiz 4.4 yes you have to go full stock with Odin first. If you want to run 4.4 AOSP you just have to flash the rom and appropriate fixes needed, no need for Odin.

Here is a thread with all the AOSP info: http://androidforums.com/virgin-mob...oot/851777-android-4-4-4-d2lte-nightlies.html

Thanks for all the help I appreciate it. I think I will just go ASOP. also that kernel is working out much better than the one I was using.
