LG G3 Accessories Thread

Yay, finally have qi charging happiness :)

I had trouble with several of the pucks, ordered an Andoer Qi charger off Amazon, $29 shipped. It's actually an Itian A6, I had looked at the photo before ordering.

Got it in today, tossed my phone on, and it instantly linked and started charging.

A huge relief, after 3 pucks I had been thinking I messed up applying the charging sticker.

Nice. I find the stands to be much more consistent then most of the pucks.

Glad to hear the Itian stand works well.

Are you looking for something that's portable? There are many universal options out there.

And are you looking for a charging option, in addition to docking? Or just simply to prop the phone up.

Best sites to check aren't necessarily LG, Best Buy or Sprint websites. Is there a particular reason you want to go through those outlets?

And you mentioned a dock you've seen in many of the commercials? Do you have a pic to share, so we have a better idea of what it is you're searching for?

Just to hold the device and charge. I'm looking for suggestions of a charger. When at home, I prefer my phone to be in a charger and not on a surface.

I just went to BB, LG to start. So any suggestions you guys have I'm open to.

Link? Can you take a few pictures of it and with the G3 on it?

Take a look from the beginning of this thread. There have been many options posted for charging. In particular, if you got wireless charging, you could get the TYLT or iTian Qi wireless charging stand.

I read this entire thread before posting.

I don't see where I can buy a dock like this: Wireless charging dock for the LG G3 is different than most others

Now, I absolutely know you're b.s.'ing. These posts were on the very first page of the thread...LOL...Obviously, you would've seen them, had you actually read through the entire thread:

I had purchased one from ebay, but found it not to be as consistant as the Itian or TYLT charging stands. The LG stand is too quirky and has to be centered almost perfectly to charge right away.

Looking for a wallet style case for the G3, but which also has the smart feature of the Quick Circle, as in when you open the case, the screen switches on and off when closed

Found the Spigen wallet S case (LG G3 Case Wallet S | SPIGEN SGP), but it does not have the smart feature

Anybody one that does

This is actually for the GF. She loves the quick circle case, but she wants to be able to carry her cards with the phone. She used to on the S3, so she has just got used to it now

Here is one:
ROCK Smart Wake up/Sleep S View Window Leather Case for LG G3 Black 22943

Is there a way to remove the LG G3 writing of the screen protector, without removing the screen protector.

& do i need a case for the phone, or would it be alright without one?

Welcome to AF Arjun18:)
Do you mean the protective film that came with the device and removing the lettering on it?

As far as a case, that is totally up to you. I feel the need for a case because to me, the phone is kinda slippery in my hands and with some kind of case on it, I can grip it better.;)

But the phone will be totally ok without one if you prefer:)

Yes i did mean the protective film that came with the device and yes removing the lettering on it.

Thanks about the case, do you think the phone will scratch without it?

Ah, gotcha. I'm not sure about the lettering. I would think it's embedded in the film pretty good. I've not tried to remove it though, sorry.

Do I think the phone will scratch? I suppose it depends on how you use it and what it comes in contact with. Put it in your pocket with keys---perhaps?
I've not used a screen protector in a couple years and don't plan on it with this one as I kinda baby it:p I wipe the screen off with my shirt and rags without scratching but ymmv.

If you are a little concerned about scratching perhaps it may not hurt to have peace of mind and put a screen protector on:)

I apologize for the complete and utter n00bishness of the question, but I've never had a wireless charging phone before, and I feel like I'm getting more and more confused the more I read through this thread. If I purchase a G3 from Verizon, what exactly will I need to get wireless charging to work?

You need:

1. Qi charging puck or stand
2. Either the Qi sticker to replace the stock NFC sticker, or a Qi enabled replacement back

Just to add clarification to hilmar2k's info,

1. This would be used to charge your device.
2. This is the "receiver" connected to the phone (whether it's the replacement sticker or back cover replacement), that would send signals to charge your device wirelessly.

I just got an arm band from Sporteer that seems to be pretty great quality but I'm having a problem with the phone working when it's inside the pocket. Knock on doesn't work and when I press the power button to turn on the screen it immediately turns off again. Seems to be an issue with Knock On and the plastic film of the arm band. I can't find a way to turn off Knock On to test out my theory though.

Has anyone been able to use their phone in an arm band?

Yes

Should be fine. Standard 0.5amp adapters are not good for modern phones and sometimes just slow down the discharge rate. Car should easily supply that amperage.

I have a Itian wireless charger for the car, which seems to work fine .. apart from the slow charging message I get. It seems that the output from the supplied cigarette adapter is not delivering enough ampage

Does something like that following actually up the ampage to 2.1? Presume there should be enough juice being delivered from the car to the power socket?

I suggest getting a 2.1a car charger. Well worth it

Hi, just got home and to find an exciting delivery from amazon, quick circle case and wireless charger for my g3.

Half hour later, I realise I've got the wrong case and it's not going to work with the wireless charger so that's annoyed me, but thinking about it I'd prefer a case the helps protect the screen so doesn't have a huge hole in the front.

So wondering if there is a similar flip case with a full cover on the front that has the bits you need for wireless charging? Had a quick google which hasn't been much use so wondered if anyone on here had found such a thing please?

only accessory I have for my g3 is green onion screen protector the anti finger print it works a little i see significant less finger prints but its not anti oil face lol, I also have my new trent external batt. 12000mah works well, I'm looking for a good case, thin but hard I hate soft case.

WELCOME TO ANDROID FORUMS highrouleur !
