im guessing its internal but since the SD card sound fixed the problem, the ROM might have installed it on the SD card

edit: yes, the sound IS on the SD card, just found it. but i did not put it there lol . the person who had the phone b4 me might have

My suggestion is to not use Titanium backup :(

I know it sucks to have to redownload your apps, but with the amount of diversity between ROMs ever increasing, it has become very hard for TiBu to backup one ROM and correctly restore it to a different one.

One thing you can try before attempting a clean restore is using the 'fix permissions' feature of ROM manager. That may help mitigate the FC's.

I've actually gone through several roms now without wiping, and without issue. I always back up in rom manager first, but I've been hot-swapping from a few roms just to see, and I've had good success with several now. Much better than with Titanium. I've even tried backing up and doing a fresh install to test the difference, and have noticed no impact, other than having to put fresh widgets on the screen. Only rom I have had alot of issues with is Smoked Glass. For some reason, it doesn't like old data.(or maybe it's the kernels) I thought the cyanogen based roms would give me the most trouble, but they haven't.

How would one do this exactly? What program changes build.prop?

Which ROM do you have? If you have this ROM, it's already set to 1ms delay.

Otherwise, you can either pull the file onto your computer and edit with wordpad, or, I think if you have root explorer, you can edit it right from your phone.

Just used Root Explorer to change it by holding it and selecting text editor.

I think the Facebook app install this to the sdcard.

Regardless, I'm glad we figured this out.

An update on video MMS: it doesn't work. I tried like every MMS version out there, including the 'fixed' one by Pete, which I am almost certain is the same one I included by default.

So...sorry. No video MMS at the moment :(

I lost the NexTheme wallpaper, and any others that you might have included, because of Titanium Update. Can you post the wallpaper(s)

Fantastic ROM Fab!

I was planning on just sticking with Pete's v1.0 w/Nextheme out of ROM Manager, but I started having issues with the Market force closing everytime I tried to download an app....luckily I had loaded this "beast" on my SD card last night, so I was able to install at work....

this baby is super smooth and super fast....I've loaded up more widgets that usual and it is just taking them in stride....using the bekit 1000 and letting the preset SetCPU settings run....

Thanks again!

Edit...noticed some posts regarding Titanium....I've had issues when backing up using Titanium, so I've stayed away from it...takes longer to reload apps, but everything seems to run better that way...

This Rom is sexy and very fast.. haven't had one home screen or menu drawer redraw.. oced at 1000.. blazing is an understatement!

The font is great btw

Thanks guys. Root explorer saves the day. Keep forgetting about that long press option. :o

Btw Fab I'm using cm for now but will be switching to your beast here in couple of days. :D

Day 2 with this ROM, and I still am unable to push HL2(themed), have it d/l on sd card. Using android terminal, and followed instructions in OP. What else can I try?

Love this rom.

This is my first time using rom manager though. I have nexbeast installed and running stock speed but want to try the 1ghz kernel as that's what I was oc'ed on droidmod. I downloaded the kernel. Do I just install rom from sd card or do I flash alternate recovery?

Also if I just install the rom. Since im already on the stock kernel, Do I have to wipe again?

Yes, just use the 'install rom from sd card' option. And no, you do not need to wipe anything when you switch kernels.

Happy overclocking!

Not a problem Fab. I am wondering if ne1 else is have the same issue. I had the same issue day 1 when i got my phone when it 1st came out. The nvr really noticed untill the leaked version of bb came along. then like a toy it was awsome lol. But right now not the same feeling

Fab,

Coming from NexTheme R3, and by the way I was able to fix the GPS issue :)..

This thing is pretty stable - currently using the 1Ghz kernel, but only at 900Mhz. Running at the full 1Ghz seems to kill the battery faster for me. Runs pretty cool, although with streaming music, surfing the web and email/texting, it gets to about the low 40's (celsius). Fast is an understatement! - This thing moves very quickly with transitions between programs/launcher/etc being nearly instantaneous. The only thing I've noticed since installing yesterday is the home screen/menu redraw, mind you it's only happened once so far (happened relatively often on R3), but just curious to know how I'd remedy that.

All in all, very nicely done and the font rocks!

Now when i installed the BB V1.0, i know the Bekit kernel was already on there. I did wipe before i installed it along with this theme. I installed the Bekit 1GHz on it. The coolest my phone has run was 91 degrees. I tested something out, so i put P3Droid 1GHz kernel on it like i had it before and my temperatures dropped to about 80-83 sometimes cooler after idle.

Now im getting all of my information from SetCPU in regards to the temp reading. I also have profiles set up as well. Could any of these things be the reason why my phone runs that warm with Bekit? Would uninstalling SetCPU and allowing my phone to change on its own be the better way to go about it?

Mine's staying cool, even with the 1.2Ghz kernel, and I'm using SetCPU just like I always have.

Right now for me, on idle, this thing is ice cold in the 60's.. moderate to heavy usage brings to me anywhere from 100-105.. but I haven't seen it go beyond 105 yet.

What Ghz are you using? Are you using SetCPU with custom profiles? I think I may have my idle set to low and stuff. I think I'm going to throttle it back a little bit.... But tell me what's your set up. I just installed Bekit 1000GHz back onto it.

So far, I really like this ROM. I'm liking the new fonts (thanks Fab) and the speed increase. I had a couple of reboots and f/c with HL2 when running some of the scripts to remove some apps but it hasn't happened again.
Not sure if I'm gonna get rid of my Task killer and Set CPU yet. I'm gonna test it out. So far, the available RAM hasn't gone down past 60mb. If it continues, then I might get rid of my task manager. As for Set CPU, at one point my CPU went down to 384mhz. Not sure why that happened but I'm gonna keep my set cpu widget around just in case. Besides, I paid for that app so why get rid of it. haha

Great work again on customizing this bad ass ROM, Fab.

Here's my update:

No issues with speed, battery life or heat. Wooo hooo! I've been able to run HL2, Beautiful Widgets, and if I wanted LW without slowing down my phone or draining my battery before my day was done. I have never been able to do that with any past ROMS.

I've been monitoring my RAM for the past few days with ATK and I've notice that my RAM has dipped below 50mb on some occasions. No big deal. As a test, I've tried running Dolphin HD (this browser is a RAM hog) when my RAM was at 65mb and there are times that my browser closes automatically. I don't get a force close message but it just goes back to my home screen. I wonder if that's because of the 50mb free at all times script? However, there have been times that my phone did lock up and rebooted but it might be because of the Dolphin app since it's a beta.
So has anyone had issues with multi-tasking with the 50mb script enabled?
