Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy S5

Can you say what (if any) advantages it has compared to 4.4.4?

Used the test build NKD off and on with 4.4.4 both rooted and not rooted not that it matters. Some of the variances between the two that I found where. 4.4.4 loads apps onto the EXTSD allot faster then the test build 5.0. The test build allows you to encrypt and still use the finger print option to unlock during daily use where 4.4.4 only allows a 6 character minimum password to gain access and for daily use. Personally I like the convenience....

I thought I had Lollipop licked, but I now find that my Data On\Off app will no longer work, it appears to be a common problem. I know you can use pulling down the main screen but I like the app on the home page. Phil

Have you tried macrodroid?

yes, he should look into MacroDroid.

I have it configured to turn off WiFi and Data each time the screen is locked.

Likewise, when the screen is unlocked, it turns both ON again.

No need to wonder about it, it just happens.

I also have my wife's phone set up with MacroDroid. for her, the phone will go about 9 or 10 days between charges. For me, not so much, 1 to 3 days depending on how much I use it.

Hi, I only use data very rarely, I use wi-fi most of the time, I don't want it turned on every time the screen is unlocked, only when I want to turn it on. Phil

Hi Phil!

When you say,"DataOn\Off app", is this a built-in widget or a Play Store app that you are referring to?

That explains a lot. The app has not been updated by the developer since 10th March 2012!!!

I am afraid that we are going to see a lot more of these apps in the coming few weeks/months, as per #1.2 of S5 Lollipop Update Problems - Dummies Guide. Thankfully, this does not cause you any major problems and hopefully some developer will come up with a working data toggle soon.

I must say, I always keep my apps on the internal memory as it saves a lot of problems when updating or flashing... something I do at least once a day... maybe more! ;)

The ommission or rather change of the silence mode is much more annoying! What were they thinking?? Now its found/called interruption/priority mode and it still doesn't properly mute the phone. Talk about making such a simple thing overly complex!
