Lollipop 5.0 [Its out! 11/12]

Does anybody know of a replacement for the stock L lock screen? I can't take any more of this opening my contacts with a right swipe when my thumb is permanently trained to open a phone that way. I can't find any settings to change gestures so I want out.

I'm looking for something in the market as close to old AOSP as possible. I've tried several and they're all crap. I'll root if need be, just need some suggestions on removing this stupid stock locker!!

Thanks!

I still haven't taken the plunge. Too many things I'm reading about 5.0 that annoy other people will annoy me too.

After being nagged about the update being available for a couple of weeks now, today the notification is gone.

Anyway for me to update to 5.0.1 without having to lose all my data?

I'm on 5.0, rooted.
Backup. Then, download the factory images, extract all the img files, flash them all (except userdata.img) in fastboot. Re-root if you want.
No loss of data

Anyone find a working app to schedule notifications sounds yet. I still don't like the Lollipop process for that

I set priority for calls and messages and I still get text notifications sounds. Now I'm not using stock app but I assume that is not the issue. Anyways if anyone has heard of something else please advise. For now I have it set for None at a scheduled time and have to do so every night

If you set messages to priority, then you will get sounds for message notifications. If you turn messages off priority, then you won't? I'm not sure I understand the question.

I think there is a built in way to have it switch, isn't there? Like scheduled interruptions or something?

As you can see I have them off but still have sound, I also tried it with it on and get sound also

This is a long shot, but check under apps to make sure you haven't given your messaging apps priority individually?

Did already and no.

This is pretty much where Lollipop annoys me, I'm not a fan of digging through settings to disable notifications and then certain apps still make a noise regardless. Priority mode works for some people and I'm not saying to get rid of it as people like it.

It's no good for me though, Google need to see sense and simply enable proper mute! (with LED flash) Then everyone wins :)

Google needs to get off the dictatorship and allow people to choose the options they want. Makes it a win win for all. Or at the very least allow us to develop or use a third party app that gives us the options we want ;)

It seems they are going down the apple route where they want to dictate what we can do.That's why I dislike apple,i want to do what I want, not them or Google

On the Apple comparison, I don't like the shift in 4.4.4 to the home screen being on the far left.

You should try out Nova launcher. Arrange home screens however you wish.

My main use for Nova, especially with phones getting larger and larger, is gestures. While it's not that uncomfortable stretching my thumb to the top of the screen to pull down the notification bar on the n5, i prefer if all i have to do is just swipe down anywhere on the screen to bring the notifcation bar down. This was a god send when i used to own a galaxy note.

Well since I could not get the priority settings to schedule and work properly like they should, I found sort of a walk around for me, unfortunately I have to set it every night, I use an app called Seer Notification,

I at least turns my sounds off and allows my Led still to flash if I do get a notification message and I can have it turn back on at a set and determined time, for now this will have to do, until someone develops an app for our purpose.

The notification to 'upgrade' to 5 has now disappeared from my phone. Perhaps if and when they've ironed out all the bugs it may re-appear.
