So I've updated over 10 times now and it hasn't fixed my GPS yet. Anyone got an idea? It doesn't lock on anymore at all its always off of where I really am, and maps always reports GPS lost even with perfect signal.

I know that people with really outdated basebands have Data/GPS issues. I also know that CM pushed couple of GPS fixes for kitkat a little while back . What build are you running? Let me test and see if I have any GPS issues with it.

Well I'm running the mk5 baseband without Knox so my phone came with 4.1.2 and its on 4.4.4 latest nightly. Use pacmans site for d2lte

Most people have reported GPS working fine once updated to latest firmware, boot loader and modem.
I didn't think anyone out there was still on mk5.

I have never upgraded from MK5. I guess I will need to start from scratch again and ODIN the 4.4.2 tar... let it update to NJ3. Then drop Philz and go back to CM. Unless there is an easier path out there?

I'm still on mk5 having no problems with gps on roms flashed from Nov-Dec,my problem was with the Sept roms.
Also having no problems with data, just lucky I guess.

Except for all the holes and vulnerabilities present in the old jellybean firmware. But I guess as long as your running a KitKat ROM without problems you're good to go. I haven't found 1 ROM that didn't have some issue that kept me from using it. Rooted stock is the only problem free ROM I've used. Everything works, xposed let's me tweak away. Its perfect for me. Aosp Roms just strip away all the goodies that are the reason I buy Samsung.

Thanks for the heads up on the holes and vulnerabilities, I don't check this forum as much as I used to.

I am mostly fine still on MK5. GPS works mostly, the compass is off for me.. shows it almost a 70 degrees off. but data works. I will probably ODIN the latest ROM during the holiday break and re root

Okay but I don't want Knox that's the thing and I don't have it. So if I want latest firmware, modem, and whatnot, where can I do all that without getting Knox?

I wasn't able to find one. Since my phone came with 4.3 it already had knox so that is why I applied the OTA once ODINing back to stock 4.4.2. There really isn't a problem with having the knox bootloader as long as you don't have the rom software that goes with it.

If you want the newest firmware you're stuck with Knox. Unfortunately there's no way around it. Many devs bricked their phones trying.

Hey I am still having GPS issues. I am using pacrom. I have NDC firmware. I think I need to start from scratch and from what I have read it should all fall into place. I originally rooted my phone awhile ago and have sort of been upgrading bits and pieces at a time (Meaning that I have never gone back to stock to update anything). That is why I think if i start from scratch that everything including GPS will work.

How do I start from scratch? Do I go back to complete stock and take the updates and then go through rooting process again?

Will I be able to root from NJ3?
