Root Working hotspot?

I got it to work havent tested it throughly but the below settings for wifi tether w/ root works for me

not in the greatest service area for virgin mobile but it works on my 3g

settings below

download : wifi tether for root users

there might be better settings but these are working for me

device profile: LG Optimus S
setup method:auto
enable access control: checked

didnt change any other settings
 
Root the phone and get Barnacle Wifi Tether. It's free on the market. Either that, or pay for PDAnet+ Works like a charm.
 
Does anyone have any clue what buildprop lines are for the teather if we can find that out its just a simple edit of one or more of those i have neen snooping my cuzns vlot as im on a moto g but have yet to find a fix without a 3rd party app am just curiouse to c if anyone els has tryed to edit anything

I just wanted to update and say, it's weird because Wi-Fi tether for root users works, but only with iOS devices. It's odd because instead of showing up as a wireless access point, it shows up as a device. It won't work for anything else.

Yeah this happened to me as well using same app

I couldn't get those settings to work tonight. But the Wifi Tether Router worked great. :-)
 
I'm using WiFi tether router with default settings (besides basic network settings, SSID, etc) and it's working great although it has a little trouble starting up occasionally.

There's no reason for Wi-Fi tether router to not work, unless you aren't rooted, in which case, you're out of luck. You should go back to zv4.
 
i got it to work this morning, all i did was reset to default settings... the only settings i had changed was the SSID and Key :confused:

oh well thank you everyone

Sure, if you don't want to support the developer and possibly not have this app anymore in the future. :/

I'm all for sideloading for purposes of testing, but if it's good and you're going to continue using it, 2 bucks isn't going to break the back.
