Help SAMSUNG REP TROUBLESHOOTING

Hello everybody so I am an actual samsung rep who works at a call center. I work with many samsung phones but primarily the s and Note series. I myself have the Note 4. I am trying to open this thread to anybody to post any questions that they may be concerned about on theyre samsung mobile phone. I am willing to help out anybody regardless of the issue. If i dont know the answer I have many resourceses that i can utilize at my job. So PLEASE ask any questions whether its defects to the phones, discrepencies, warranty questions, or simple features of the phone. Hope this thread helps everybody out a little bit. :)

Thanks JD! I'll be happy to start:

Why is it that the Bluetooth A2DP protocols are so hit-or-miss? I have a Jabra Revo Wireless BT stereo headset. Sometimes it will control the music: pause, play, reverse, next. And then, all of a sudden and with no changes in settings, the controls simply become unresponsive and I have to physically whip out my Note 4 to control the music. And later, again with no changes in state, they start working again!

I'm trying to find a trend in this behavior, and there doesn't seem to be any. It seems to work when it wants to, and not when it doesn't. When connected to my old Note 3 I never had this issue, so I can rule out the headset.

Thanks for your advice!

so first thing i would do is go into the application manager on your note 4 and clear the data on both bluetooth options under the all tab. if that fails i would try doing a factory data reset on the phone, but first back up the information on the phone. you can do that through syncing info with your google account or you can download samsung kies 3 from samsung.com/kies. i believe that the note 4 comes with bluetooth 4.0. not sure what version of bluetooth that headset uses but it could just be a compatibility issue. hope this helps chief!!

If its a note 4 it has the 3.0 and 2.0

unfortunately not that i know of. power saving mode pretty much cuts off anything running that isnt absolutely necessary. ive have yet to find a way to be able to do it.

I have just changed from Note 2 to Note 4 and cannot find the feature "Photo Note" which allows you to make notes on back of photos. Where is it? This is one of the best features on the Note and the reason I continue to stick with the product.

alrighty easy question! so basically the photo note feature on the note 4 acts as a type of scanner in a way. basically what it is, lets say you snap a photo of notes on a whiteboard or a recipe in a book or maybe an important document you want to keep on your phone, basically what it will do will try to convert that into a note on the phone. to find the feature just go to the snote widget on the phone and it should the the middle option in the snote widget. it should look like a square with a camera icon. just tap on that icon and it should walk you through how to do it if it is your first time using that feature. hope this helps lol. im at work right now so its difficult to post pictures of the steps right now. but if you cant figure it out from this reply i will post pictures step by step later.

Thanks for that info. I discovered a new feature from it. However, what I was referring to was the ability in Note 2 to take a photo, go to the menu and select "Photo Note" and the image would flip over on the phone where you could use the stylus to write a short description of the shot. This now appears to have been replaced by allowing you to give a "tag" as the description.

hi, im new to this so please understand...im about to purchase a samsung note 4 from a friend, while hard resetting the phone its took so long that seemed like it wasnt moving anymore. hung up i think. So tech advice was to change the rom to a stock rom only. This i assume will void the warranty from local phone service carrier...my question is, will it still be good to purchase a unit that had the rom replaced by local techs and is there any cons to this little incident? thank you very much!

It is good if it powers on a factory ROM that is installed . how much are they selling it for .

Well JD, clearing data on the Bluetooth options didn't fix it. I plan on installing a stock-based custom ROM one of these days (I'm loathe to do it, since the phone is set up just the way I want it), but that's why I got a Verizon Note 4 Developer Edition. To tinker with it. Once I've ROMmed it, I'll report back with the results. Thanks for your suggestions!

Email /Gmail sync.
I am on Verizon and I have to continuously having to go to account settings to fix .. I am running touch wiz (basic ) . I'm not sure if it is a third party app , (snap dragon, clean master ) are 2 of the apps that I can think of. ...... please help me out. Thank you

Anyone know of any assistance, ,, would greatly appreciate it .. I'm getting really annoyed by having to sync all the time. ........

Hi, thanks for the reply, its working ok so far except i noticed when i press "back"button it doesnt respond right away,i usually hve to press it twice or 3 times...i use to own a note 2 bfore switching to note 4 and i never had issues with the back button...seems like it is slower. i got it for 27,000 pesos which is about 600$..

I do hope you can help with this one. I'm with Verizon, if it helps...
I keep getting a popup in a gray box that says "Session expired. Please try again or login". It shows up on any screen, at the bottom, even the lock screen. It happens about once a minute when it happens. It is not in the notifications window when I pull down. I can't find out for the life of me what session has expired and how to get rid of it. In settings, in accounts, everything adds up...all the accounts are like email, and they get mail. I have cancelled synch for Samsung accounts, so that shouldn't be it, either.

Any help?????? It's driving me crazy!!!

Thanks for being here. Note 4 worked just fine but for some reason charger wont charge fast anymore. I shut phone off and in 30 min got 16% charge. Turned phone on and now charging for 135 minutes and only up to 51% with power saver on and not using it at all. Suggestions?

Okay JD, I completely wiped my Note 4 DE and installed the Definitive 1.6 ROM. The issue seems better, although it does have its occasional hiccups. Hiccups I can pretty much live with. If things go south on me, you'll be the second to know. Thanks again for your assistance! :)

Are there any known issues with microSD cards being used in the Note 4? - I installed my Sandisk 64Gb U1/Class10 card and within a month it had read errors, so I put in another card (same make model just a 32Gb capacity this time) and now it tells me once or twice a day that the SD card was unexpectedly removed and the almost immediately says that it has been inserted. The cards are not loose and don't seem to move at all. I have cleaned the contacts the best I can and have reformatted each card but still the same. Both cards worked faultlessly in my Sony Xperia Z1 for the 6 months previously.
Any ideas?

still waiting for a response? Am I doing something wrong on this thread. I would think I would get some help in a day or two not weeks?

Memory cards are only good for so many read/write cycles. They DO wear out. I had a 128GB Sandisk card in my Note 3, and it worked flawlessly. For my Note 4, I bought a NEW 128GB card. It works flawlessly. But I know it won't work forever, and that's why I back up the contents to the PC regularly and use NEW cards for each new device as I acquire them.

Depending on how old and well used your SDcard is, as far as reads and writes, it's quite possible that it's just plain dying. I might suggest removing the card, copying what you can to the PC, then copying all that to a new card and installing the new card into your mobile device. If there are no more failure indications, then my statement above is validated. If the errors persist, then it may be an I/O issue in the device itself.

I guess I'm just lucky, but I have a 16GB card that I used some years ago in my Droid X, then for a couple of years in my S3, and now it's working in my Note 4. Perhaps it has something to do with the actual small capacity...who knows!

I hope you can help me, JD. My Note 4 (three months old) took a spill from the between-seat console in my car to the floor and the screen went black and unresponsive. The phone had no visible damage and was in a protective Pelican case. I took it to AT&T, they said the screen probably had a crack and I should get it repaired. I got it repaired - they replaced the screen (twice, apparently). The second screen worked for a while, but by the time I went to pick it up: black again. Here are some interesting symptoms: the screen seems responsive to the pen; it sounds like it boots up; there is no service (I transferred it to a working phone), the BT and wifi are turned off, yet it still makes notification sounds like its receiving messages. The repair shop (a well known chain) said it could be a software problem or something was jarred loose on the motherboard - I've searched for discussions/forums that discuss these issues but can't find anything so far. Any idea what has happened?

I can't help but can't resist saying how terrible a story this is. I never have used a protective case on any of my smartphones. Mr.. Burkett's story is horrifying: if the phone couldn't survive a slight fall as described while in a protective case, what does that say about all our phones' future. I dropped my S3 at least a dozen times without any protection and without any problems. I love my Note 4 but this post scares the hell out of me!
