Help Shutter Click

Thanks for reply, just tried it - both up and down volume buttons act as a shutter button!
Not rooted

Sorry! Yes that works but it takes the spontinaety out of a situation, then I have to turn it up again!
My previous mogo g (same operating system 4.4.4) didn't make a shutter sounds at all, regardless of the volume control?
I presume I set it up like that but I can't remember!

Thanks for the suggestion although I like to keep 'extra apps' to a minimum!
I am quite happy with the stock camera - except for the click!

I understand.

You might try it anyway - the sound setting is obvious and it only works if the underlying system supports it.

If it doesn't work, you'll know that you're chasing a dead end.

It's free, costs nothing to try and uninstall.

Aren't some localities requiring that the camera have an audible "click"? Some privacy thing?
Don't know how that is enforced, but just throwing it out there for awareness:)

Korea has such a law, the Japanese did it voluntarily to avoid getting a law, the US introduced it but it didn't pass.

I'm not aware of anywhere in Europe passing it.

Created a big stink a few years ago, tempest in a teacup. I don't worry about it.

By now, creeps are using apps that defeat the sound and display a false app face when caught.

Impossible to get candid baby or pet pictures with the clicking sounds.

I think any camera purchased has a 'shutter click' enabled by default just in case!
I wonder if things might change with Lollipop? My previous moto g (3g) had a shutter click which I turned off, although I can't find where I did it if I wanted it back!
I wonder if the option disappeared in a system update to 4.4.4?

Not sure when the option was removed, but now I just root my device and a simple change to a file that Mr. Lucky posted above works:)
