Root [Boost Mobile] S3 stuck on samsung logo

this is the sprint nj2 firmware. Should work fine. But kies 3 doesn't just say kies. It says kies3. Even the desktop icon says kies3. That one would probably work. But so should the nj2 firmware.

Yes. It should work fine. It shouldn't wipe data. It replaces the system.IMG, the boot.IMG (kernel) and recovery.IMG with the sprint stock ones. I've only flashed sprint firmware onto virgin mobile phones that were rooted, and I don't remember if I needed to fix the APN to get mobile data working (which requires root)
 
Odin w that file worked. ...unfortunately she has a passcode and i cant get completely in to see but from what i can see...i doubt anything got erased...

Sounds great. Didn't she give you the passcode incase you got it fixed to check it out and see if it worked? You have been working on this for some time now. Glad you got it figured out. :)
 
She said she cant remember the passcode. The design part...w the series of dots...SMH...seriously...my in laws kill me w this...literally NONE of them know their gmail account info when i get them new phones....should i be seeing a 4G signal when it is on the passcode screen? Just in case...how can i fix the APN? Man i need to step it up...feel like such a n00b w all these questions i used to know the answers to.
 
Glad you got it fixed Knox. Glad I could help out too. You convinced me to buy my very first android phone with your ZTE Warp videos and I've followed that Youtube page since then. I've upgraded through the S3 with you and truly enjoy the work you do. Thank you sir.

Glad you got it.
Also, you might still be able to get the pics by plugging it in to your PC now. Maybe. Not sure if the pattern lock stops that, I'm not at home to test.
Edit: also you can Odin flash philztouch custom recovery then do a factory reset in philz. This will wipe data (unlock the thing too) but will not wipe internal SD, which is where the pics are. I think this is you only chance to recover pics without that pattern unlock code.
