Help URGENT PLEASE HELP! Need to try an revover a text message ASAP!

today i cracked my phone and the screen is cooked. I need a way to try an recover a text message so i can get a persons number. i need this urgently because they're buying something off of me. I am unemployed, and need to sell this item so i can get a new phone ASAP.

PLEASE help and let me know if it is possible to view texts stored on my phone though having it connected to a pc.

Your help would be GREATLY appreciated

The phone in question is a galaxy note 3 running on the most current version of android.
 
You can use Samsung Kies to pull the stored messages off the phone using the backup/restore function. However the backup file won't be in a readable format on the PC, you'd need to restore the messages to another Samsung phone.
