Help Tracks grouped as separate albums

To be specific, I have Michael Jackson's "Bad" album on my HTC One M8. The problem I'm having is that one track (in .mp3) is being grouped separate from the other tracks (which are in .wma) as a separate album, however I don't have this problem with the stock music player (in the stock player, everything is sorted by album, regardless of .mp3 or .wma). Is there a way to fix this?
 
I don't understand the problem. You state stock player isn't a problem but don't mention which app is causing a problem. If its the fact you can see 2 folders in your file explorer, convert the mp3 to wma and move it to the correct folder

There are two music players on my phone. One is simply called "Music" and the other is called "Play Music". This problem occurs with the Play Music app.
 
I understand. I have the same issue. Eventually i settled on a third party player since neither of the stock apps are good with organising folders Short of the stock apps being rewritten it cant be fixed
