Help Recover messages with no backup, conly copying the phone and sd card data

Hello guys, this is my first post, so, as said in the tittle, I restored my phone NOTE 3 SM-900 to factory settings but i didn't backup, I only copied the sd card and phone data to my pc, I want to know i there's any way to recover the SMS... I have all the data before restoring in my pc so I want to know if I can restore the SMS.... I'm really worried it's important. Now my phone is rooted, if that helps....

Thank you a lot.

I don't think there is any way. If you were rooted already and took a copy of /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db then you could restore that, but if you only copied the internal and external sd cards then you won't have a copy of that database (and if you weren't rooted when you copied the data you won't have a copy of that, since you'd need root to access that area at all).

There's no chance you have a message backup app installed, or that the Samsung SMS app does any backups automatically?

If you were rooted you would have access to those files so they would have been backed up if you backed up everything. You would then need to move them to the appropriate folder on your device which needs to be rooted to allow access.

It really depends how you did the copy. If you just copied the "internal sd card" then you don't have that stuff. If you connected to a PC and copied what you could over USB (USB mass storage or MTP) then you don't have that stuff.

If you used root to access /data and copied that filestructure to external sd, or used ADB to really copy the full internal storage, then you will have this stuff. But you wouldn't do that type of thing by accident, so if you don't know then it's very unlikely you have a copy. :(
