fixed the instructions for you

1) Place phone in download mode
2) Flash PhilZ via Odin
3) Reboot into recovery
4) Go to PhilZ settings or Advanced Functions (depending on the PhilZ you have)
5) Choose "Re-root System (SuperSU)"
6) Now hit "Reboot System Now"
7) Open play store, install SuperSU and BusyBox
8) Open SuperSU and Update the Binary with normal option
9) Open BusyBox give root permissions; now see if their is an update
10) Enjoy root

more than likely there is.last update i saw that was recent was 1.23.0-stericon in the busybox (confirmed)

just incorporated it a few days ago into my modified backup for the htc one sv.
sadly we dont have a philz that works for ours.besides twrp i like philz.i installed that onto a friends galaxy s3 after i rooted it

speaking of the One SV how did you unlock the bootloader?

unlocking the bootloader is easy.thats done by htcdev owned by htc.they allow you to unlock bootloaders.soff is a little trickier.to get soff i used rumrunner.

most of the updates were outdated.im one of the few trying to bring the scene back.russelvone helped teach me a bit about fastboot and adb commands and all.im going from there on to help

hes making a slimrom in like a month or so alpha build but there are some interesting new stuff thanks to me for the time being.

only giving k2_cl model advice though if you dont have the boost model idk.if you have verizon i hear rumrunner will unlock that though if you have that model

Just flashed the stock tar in Odin. All is working very well, except that when I go to flash Philz recovery in Odin, the new recovery is not there. Odin says "pass" after the flash procedure, but I keep getting the stock recovery. Thoughts?

Is the device rebooting right after Odin pass(Is auto reboot checked in Odin)?

Ok. I learned you must also 1) uncheck auto-reboot, 2) unplug device after Odin says pass and finally, do a battery pull and then boot into the new recovery. All is well, thanks.
