Cricket CDMA to Metro PCS promotion

So I just got off a conference call about a new promotion in select areas (Houston being one of those areas)

It basically goes like this... If you are an existing Cricket CDMA customer and you port over your number from Cricket and turn in your CDMA handset, you qualify for a 60 dollar credit which can be used to purchase a new handset.

This promotion will go on from Feb 23 to March 23.

Are they able to verify you're still on Cricket CDMA? Or is it possible to port in from Cricket GSM and give them an old CDMA phone?

Yeah, they need to verify first. They will first enter your number and then scan your phone to see if it is active. If it is active and you do qualify you will then get a credit of 60 dollars towards the purchase of any phone OR accessory.

A correction as well: You do not have to turn in your old phone, just have it with you in order to scan it. I repeat, You do not have to turn in your old phone to get this deal, you just need to have it in order to scan and verify it.
