No notification LED/Light? (LG L70)

Hi!

Im new to the forum. I have just bought a LG Optimus L70 at a Metropcs store.

Quick question: Could it be that the phone has no LED/Light notification? Like the one is usually next to the front camera in most smartphones.

I also read that some LG smartphones use the home button as a cool notification light, but that the L70 doesnt have this feature. Is that the case?

If that's the case... I just cannot believe it, I have had very old smartphone and they always came with that feature (Motorola Cliq 2, Samsung Galaxy S Relay), so one will know if it has a missed called, sms or any other notification without the need to unlock the screen and check it.

Thanks everyone!
David.

Thanks for your prompt response biggiephil!

Wow that's sadly a deal breaker for me, cant believe I had to check that before buying it. Im guessing the L90 lacks that feature too.

Im gonna try to return it then, if I understood correctly is possible to get a refund for both the phone and the service I paid.

The YouTube movie shows a flickering LED. The German comment traslates to:
In the technical data on the Internet and many tests, shows that this smartphone no notification LED I have had it but found anyway. Also works in the dark.

If the cricket version has a led light wouldn't that mean the metro version has the hardware to do it, its just not activated in the software? ??

It may be, but I doubt it. The Cricket's button with the LED ring is certainly more expensive.

There are 2 items visible to the left of the front camera, one of these may be the LED shown in the German movie, or just the window through which the LED would shine if there was one installed. We're unlikely to know unless a brave soul opens the phone and confirms...

I don't think taking it a part is necessary, it looks like there are files referring to an led light (but we even have NFC files but no NFC), so maybe making a kernel the supports it will work(?)

I had the same question and they say the L70 can't and doesn't light up. Not too happy either!

The LG Optimus Exceed 2 is the Verizon sibling of the L70 (some of the plastics inside that are visible with the cover off have L70 stamped on them) and has a lit Home button.

I have the same buton as You have mentioned as lg d321 (cricket) home button, but the button doesn't light! So there must also be some differencies in kernel- software of phones where button light and button doesn't light.
