newbie with amazon fire tv

ok i don't have a clue on how to root this or even the order of what i need to do it in , even the files i will need to root and stop updating by itself after it's done . i am still looking and reading but i am still lost , any help would be great tyvm

thanks for your reply Thom , i have read that and reread it , i am still lost and i have also tried to download from those links provided with no luck what so ever , as i said i am a newbie and i am trying to do this , but without any success at all, i am missing something and i can't figure out what
