Going to cricket, what version G2 should i get?

Common sense tells me to get an ATT g2 since cricket, you know runs on ATT towers lol. That said ive seen in this forum people have had issues with ATT g2's with regards to shutting off LTE data (if its spotty in your area, for better battery life) and a few other concerns.

The choice is between t-mobile or att branded for use on cricket wireless, what one would you guys go with? I can find each on craigslist for 150-200 depending on condition.

Thanks.

QQ no one?

My main concern here is if/when lollipop comes to the G2 will i be ok with either ATT or tmobile versions? T-mobile seems to have lollipop in the works, but how would a tmobile branded g2 get updated to lollipop on crickets (att) network? This is all very confusing to me lol/

Cricket is where im going tho, i understand i wouldnt have any of these concerns if i just went with ATT/verizon/tmobile etc but for 35 bucks a month no taxes and 2.5gb's of data a month cricket destroys everyone.

Hi,
I moved your thread to the Cricket forum as it seems more a carrier question than a G2 question. There is a pretty active group of folks here that I'm pretty sure will be able to help you out.:)

Thanks mate, sorry i didnt know a cricket section existed lol.
Well, on the home page scroll past the general Android stuff. Then past all the phones. Then past all the tablets. Then past all the wearables. Then past the development stuff. Aaaaaaaand there are the carriers.:p

In other words, no worries. Our homepage can be a bit daunting sometimes.:D

I agree I would go with the AT&T version myself. Cricket has it's issue, but for the most part it is great. As long as you don't have to deal with customer service or tech support, you will be fine. For the price tough to squack ;)

I agree I love cricket.. And for any phone I would go with whatever version ATT uses on cricket.. Cricket being the ATT network, I'm sure the ATT versions would just be optimized to work better on cricket..

May not be true but I'd imagine it is

Soooo i found some new info! It appears the ATT G2 is hotspot locked unless you are using there sim, wtf! If you read the first review on amazon on the unlocked G2 he says he got it working but didnt say how. That got me thinking, should i get a tmobile g2? Then i go to an ebay listing of an unlocked g2 tmobile branded and in the description it said LTE will ONLY work with tmobile and not att, how is this possible? They have the exact same bands inside the phone, why wouldnt LTE work on cricket with a tmobile g2? I want to just get the ATT model to be safe BUT i also dont want to buy it because i dont know if i can get the hotspot working properly on cricket. Why is this so hard, im about ready to sign a contract with verizon so idont have to mess with this stuff lol.

These are copy pastes from ebay listings on the G2:

ATT model:
"4G LTE compatible with AT&T or the same frequency, 4G LTE not compatible with T-Mobile, NOT Verizon or Sprint compatible, hotspot only compatible with AT&T"

Tmobile model:
"GSM Unlocked. 4G LTE ONLY TMobile, "

Would like some insight here please. If they have the same bands in the phone confirmed by this site:
http://www.willmyphonework.net/

Then why does it say LTE wont work with each others network?
