Help Problems activating an unlocked galaxy 3 phone on metro pcs

I purchased an unlocked gsm Galaxy 3 on ebay to be used on the Metro pcs system. I went to the local metro store to purchase the required sim card, the old phone was cdma, and they "activated" it at the store. We made a call and it worked. I tried to make a call later, and the screen went black and no ringing. Tried again and the screen stayed on dialing.... but no connection. There is one bar showing for service, when a second phone shows 5 bars. I have contacted metro twice about the problem, with one person having me go in settings and change access port names, and asking the second person it there was a problem with the connection, and being told there might be a problem with the unlocking. I talked to the seller on ebay and he said that some of the people purchasing his unlocked phones have a problem activating with Metro. He said that people try different stores and they get it activated by someone after a couple of tries by someone who knows more. I do understand the seller might not want me to return the phone, but could there be something to do to activate the phone?

This could be many problems, was the APN settings correct? anything starting with epc. will only work temporarily...

When you activated the phone for the first time did you check if the internet worked? is it possible to take a screen shot of the problem?

After talking to Metro the second time, I reset the phone to factory settings to send it back so no screen shots are possible. We didn't check internet, and didn't think about it. I was going to take the phone back to the store that activated it to try again, and wanted some ideas to suggest if the same problems occurred. After talking to the seller, I also wanted to see if people did have problems activating unlocked phones with Metro, or if the seller wanted me to keep trying to stall a return.

I've only ever had a problem with a verizon phone not being able to dial out. It would stay on dialing screen and nothing happens, however the internet still worked on it fine. But it turned out it was on the phone side.
