Replacement for Juice Defender on Lollipop

I've run Juice Defender for years to save battery life and loved it, but it won't run on Lollipop for some reason. I'm looking for a similar app that will manage things like wi-fi and extend battery life. Does anyone have a suggestion on what they use?

I should probably point out that my phone is not rooted. It seems a lot of these battery apps require root access.

I used to use JD religiously in ye olden days but generally stay far away from any of the battery saving apps that are out now. Recent Android versions have made significant improvements in how power is used, so I came to realize that I actually wasted more power automagically toggling radios than I saved by not having those radios on all the time.

Honestly, you'll be better off identifying what apps are draining your battery (either by misbehaving or syncing too frequently) and adjusting their settings to bring them in line. Trying to manage stuff that Android already manages (well) is likely to cause problems.

I always have a hard time identifying what is eating all the juice. Seems "android system" is always way up on the list of items and I'm not sure if that can be tweaked.

Can you drill into the App Sucker piece of GSAM to see any more detail than just "Android System"? Screenshots would help us as well - both of GSAM and of the stock Android Battery screens.

I can click on "Android System" and it lists "included packages" but doesn't give any usage stats with them. I'm charging now so screenshots probably won't to any good until I get to 100% and then let it go for a while.

One odd thing I'm seeing is that GSAM is showing Bluetooth as using 0%, but the Android screen shows it at 33%. Those number could be funky because it's being charged, though.

Yeah, those two handle stats slightly differently - I think one displays "usage since full charge" versus "usage since last charged". Charge it up, and let it sit idle for a few hours (or not necessarily idle, just do what you normally do). Then post some screenshots and we can make some progress. :)

That can be possible and still be right. GSAM shows power consumption by app or process. Android battery stats show a percentage of total power used. So, if the phone is at 98% and BlueTooth has used 33% of that 2%, then its <1% which would be reported as 0%. And charging will throw the numbers off even more.
