my parents are from india but i was born in the US and whenever I call my moms iphone i hear random loud static noises (but she doesnt hear them) but for example today after i hung up she said she heard what sounded like 2 men talking in hindi.

do u think im being hacked? i did a factory reset of my nexus 4, and didnt associate it with any google account and i STILL hear those static noises only when talking to her.

freaking republicans have no respect for anything, even though i served in the US air force and have been a law abiding citizen they always wanna treat me like garbage just because of my skin color.

Do you hear static when calling other folks?
I wouldn't think you are being hacked as much as perhaps some carrier issue.

And let's leave politics and race out of this conversation ;)
My hats off to you for your service
no only when calling mom

You're getting interference. That's why you hear static cross-country.
sorry been away for a while, but thats what confuses me, because when i call my dad's cellphone (he also has an iphone) i dont get any static, nor do i when i call other friends i have across country. i even asked my mom to do a restore with itunes and still does it...oh well i stopped caring lol.

By any chance does the location of where your mom makes/receives the call make a difference? If she's got a strong radio signal nearby it can easily cause static and bleedover to her handset (the men speaking in the background).

For example, if she works near a radio station or there is a HAM radio operator in the building.

I'm a HAM operator and I can confirm that it happens.
