Adding Ringtone

As per page 57 of the manual, Setting>Sound>Ringtones, and, now you are supposed to see something that looks like a + symbol in the top-right corner of the screen that allow you to add a ringtone?
This should be easy. Anyone know how to do this?

When I wanted to add a custom notification sound I had to add it to the Notifications folder. If you want to add custom ringtones you need to add them to the Ringtones folder. I moved the files I wanted when I plugged my phone into my computer, though you might be able to move a ringtone file to the Ringtones folder through the File Manager on the phone but not sure.

When I look through the different folders, there are many "Ringtone" folders and not just one?

For example, I found all the ringtones under /system/media/audio/ringtones. When I had downloaded a ringtone in MP3 format and copied it there, but it did not show up in Setting>Sound>Ringtones?

The downloaded ringtone has to be renamed with .ogg at the end and permissions set to rw-r-r

I used this app, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.zedge.android, and in 2 steps had my ringtone installed. It displays under "My Ringtones" instead "Ringtones" [in settings]. I may try it your way.

/storage/emulated/0/Ringtones is what Matthew83 was talking about guys... you can have MP3s as ringtones as well..save the file there and your done, reboot may be necessary.

Yeh, I uninstalled Zedge first. Next, I did what you suggested above and it worked.

EDIT: There are two entries in the manual for this phone concerning adding ringtones and neither one of them can be found in the phone?

Failure on LG's part, maybe it was there on a specific firmware they were basing on that was never on this device. Nevertheless if you know android you know them all, after all its just the manufacturer putting their branded sticker over android source. So some tricks are universal.
