Help Create image shortcut?

Hello Androids, how are you all?

Well, I'd really like to know how to solve a problem I've been having for some time now. I took a picture of some text that I want to get fast access to but I don't know how to create a shortcut for it or even how to save it on my "desktop".

Any ideas? Thank you all so very much!

Thank you, Spike ;)

It worked really well. Took me some time to get around to the program but it is really good.
Btw, is there any way it can also show a thumbnail of the picture instead of that standard .ico?

Glad it worked with all that Jupiter jazz. :D ;)

As for a thumbnail, I've not found a way for that.

Well, I guess it could depend on the launcher. I havent tried this on shortcuts made by ES, but Nova Launcher allows you to choose the icon per shortcut on the homescreens from the gallery. So you can set the picture thumbnail as the icon.

I actually run Nova and I did not know that. :)

However - forget ES File Explorer. It's not the way.

Intrigued by your suggestion I looked further...

With Nova launcher and the X-plore File Manager, you can choose to add a shortcut with Nova, then choose an X-plore shortcut - and that will take you directly to X-plore where you can choose whatever you like.

I chose a jpg - and the whole thing created the thumbnail automatically.

Intrigued even more, I tried the same thing with my stock launcher - and same excellent results.

I've used X-plore for years, stopped for a while and just came back to it a year or so ago - I never realized that it had this feature.

Use X-plore, it's far superior to ES for creating shortcuts, it works intuitively from your launcher shortcut selection, and in the case of images, creates a thumbnail.

In fact, I just added 4 shortcuts to demonstrate.

What you see in X-plore for the file icon is exactly what you get on the desktop. Here's a doc, a pdf, an mp3, and a jpg.

Looks amazing. I'll redo my stuff here.
Have I ever mentioned that this community is awesome? :D

Btw... Is it worth it to try to install a CFW? I'm thinking about installing Cyanogen on my device (A Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen 2014).

Is installing custom firmware worth it?

Maybe.

OMGZ PWNIES YES! :D

Why did I ever try this, I ought to have my head examined!

I'm in the OMGZ PWNIES camp but the best advice I know is this -

Read extensively about rooting your phone in our root forum for it, ask questions BEFORE you do anything, don't proceed until you feel that you are comfortable and understand the steps.

Properly done, you'll make a system image backup (a nandroid) before you do any system or firmware mods beyond custom recovery.

Then if you have a problem you can revert to what you have now with no fuss.
