Help Google maps issue apparent from Galaxy S4 to S6

I just recently got a galaxy S6, upgrading from the S4. Don't get me wrong, this thing is one hell of a machine. Only thing that upsets me is that my S4 would continue to give me voice guided directions from google maps when I turned my screen off. The S6, however, loses GPS when the screen goes off. This is pretty inconvenient. I don't necessarily need to see the video when I'm traveling, just a heads up of when my turn is coming. Anything I can do to remedy? Thanks
 
Do you have any power saving app or setting turned on? That could have been the culprit. Otherwise, I personally think Waze is way better than Google Maps anyway.
