Help Cancel recovery boot

I woke up early this morning and groggily hit the install update for the new android verion that was auto download and stored on my phone witout permission and could not figure out how to dletet the install file.. I quickly pulled out the battery and whenever I turn on the hone now it booting into recovery boot. How can I cancell recovery boot for normal boot. I seen screen shots of the new update and heard hoprror stores. New android OS SUCKS and I refuse to instal;l. So how can I cancel this recovery boot?

edit. When I talk about the "new OS" horror stories Im referrfing to Lollipop. I am PERFECTLY Ha[ppy w/ kit kat

edit 2: factory reset not an option.

You have the Canadian regional model as per #1.4 of 40 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide

Does it not have in...

Settings > About phone > Software updates > Auto update... the ability to uncheck updates? (See screenshot)

As the update has obviously been downloaded and the install has started, it is better to allow this to go ahead rather than attempt a Factory Data Reset. If you decide you want to go back to KitKat, you can download the stock Samsung firmware for your model of phone and CSC code and flash it using Odin by following the instructions and video in the links of #1.11 of the aforementioned guide.

Is flashing it going to trip that knox thing and if so has there ever been a way found to reset or work around the counter yet so the warrenty stay OK?

I found out about knox while I was trying to figure out how to delete the install file SO this exact situation I am finding myself in RIGHT NOW would not happen. But is happening.

Flashing a stock Samsung firmware does NOT trip the Knox security flag. Do you have the ability to disable Auto update as described previously?
 
Im not sure. I mostly set it and forget it once my phone is setup. I may have came across that on the 1st setup. If I did I would of unchecked it. I dont want my phone doing anything by itself. My google play apps aren't even allowed to update automatically.

This is 100% a case of me accidently hitting install. I was trying to clear notifictaions, hit the wrong one, when into the update notification and hit install instead of the go back button.

The reason for asking is that Verizon and AT&T users who have downgraded back to KitKat have found that their firmware does not allow them to prevent updates and have received Lollipop again.

However, judging from page 205 of the G900W8 User Manual for KitKat, you should have the option to uncheck updates as mentioned in post #2.
 
I wonder if its unchecked if that just stops it from installing by itself or if having it unchecked would have prevented the download of that file as well. Because I know there is NO-WAY I would have downloaded that file by my choice. If it was there and I seen it I would have 100% disabled that. Files should not be allowed to download w/o permission regardless from a trusted source or not.

Unchecked means, on the G900F international model, that the phone does not even look for updates as I found at the weekend when the barmaid at my local pub wondered why her U.K. unbranded phone looked totally different to mine. Upon checking I found that Auto update was unchecked and she was still on KitKat in spite of 4 Lollipop updates, beginning in January, having been issued for her CSC code. Once I checked the update box and did a search I was able to download and install the latest version of Lollipop, OD3, for her.
