Help download music from pc to galaxy s4

when I attempt to download music from my pc to my phone via usb it appears to transfer however when I attempt to play it back all I get is cryptic sounds. Any thoughts?

Not certain. The music is from my cds that were downloaded to my pc hard drive. They play fine on my pc

It may be a format issue. What format are the working music files on your pc?

What did you use to rip the CDs with, and what format did you use? e.g. Android doesn't play too well with Windows Media WMA, because of Microsoft licensing.

MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis and FLAC, should be no problems.
