Root (Port) Behold 2 1.6 ( No Twiz w/ Busybox & Rooted Kernel )

No I uninstalled visual voice mail... its not compatible with my service anyways... What seems to be happening is: com.android.phone has stopped unexctedly... then my phone goes into airplane mode...

anyway, if by wanting the galaxy gallery app in No Twiz means giving up Samsung camera app, then I will pass, the galaxy gallery app is really good to have, but the samsung camera is a must have :D

No The samsung camera app is called SamsungCamera.apk, it simply extends hooks that exist in camera.apk, think of them like lego blocks. You pull out the twiz camera block and replace it with the galaxy 1.6 camera block. You get extra icons because some extra tidbits exist. You can use adb pull to backup the twiz camera.apk if you feel nervous.

like i said the 1 key is linked to visual voicemail from the factory using the stock behold 2 dialer!!!!!!!!! if the app is not there...FORCE CLOSE!! there is no way to change this. you might want to try one of the galaxy rom as the 1 key will dial voicemail not open visual!

after downloading, no need to unzip, just flash like you are flashing a new rom with ODIN, simply put the OPS file (from Warheads) in the OPS section and the kernal.tar file in the PDA section, make sure debug only box on the left is UNCHECKED.

getting 'invalid image' error message when you add in the kernel.tar to PDA is normal, just close the pop up box and ignore it.

Ah correct me if im wrong but i believe that kernel is only supposed to be for the galaxy builds...

i am confused, BH_MAN thanked you for this post, my understanding from this action is you have to be correct with the above statement; yet he himself replied 'should be yes' when asked 'hey BH_MAN is the revision 6 kernel compatible with the stock 1.6 rom?' in the galaxy thread.

Although should be is not definitive, coming from da man himself, I take it as a very highly possible. So, for clarification, it will be good if BH_MAN can state once and for all if the kernel rev 6 is compatible with Warheads or stock 1.6 rom.

Oh ok well all I can think of is try data reset some apps have had issues with fc and have been fixed this way. also there might be left over data or cache from the old version. You might try deleting the app entirely and then reinstall from the market to the new version.

same problem, however, i didn't push newer version of Swype. I ADB removed it and installed Shapewriter from market (have always wanted to try it out anyway to compare with Swype), so far I find it better than Swype :D blessing in disguise

Yes it Compatible with Stock...
No It's Not Compatible with anyone Of the Rom's Here as I have Made Changes to them... If it was, I would Have Said Yes......
 
Which swype file are you using? The one I have has been working fine. Just make sure you check "disable audio warnings" in the swype options.

I am not on R10 or R11, I misunderstood BH_MAN and flashed the Rev 6 kernel on Warheads, not too sure about the Swype version included in Warheads though.
 
I was just wondering if Spare Parts could be part of the 1.6 NoTwiz. I use it to monitor the battery life. I like that it has the time it's been running since last boot.

I don't think BH_MAN plans to put anything on that you can just download from the market.
 
well, I'm only bringing this up because my son's phone is a G1 and I just flashed a cynagenmod 4.2.15.1 and before with the stock 1.6 android from htc the battery life sucked. I've run it for 23 hrs on one charge now and it is at 63% and that is low to moderate use. The custom roms from BH_Man for the behold 2 are awesome too. Battery life is great at 16 -20 hrs for moderate use. You wouldn't get this kind of battery life from the stock roms. I'm trying to talk my wife into letting me root her phone and put one of Handler Exploits 1.5 rom on the phone. She will only let me do that if android is atleast 1.6. Anyone know which version Handler's 1.5 rom is because I have been searching the internet and left a post on the Root:G1 forum and no one has replied. This is the last time I will post anything about G1 or Cliq here, it is just that I noticed a few people that have the same devices we have.

Long time follower, first time poster. Want to start by thanking BH MAN keep up the good work.

Flashed warheads, excellent. Everything works as it should but was getting some FC's for home++. So I pushed twlauncher.apk. I would like to go back to home++. Is there a way to do this without reflashing the pda?

Would like to remove the music player, anyone know what the apk name is to rm?

You can download the Home++ from the market. I think it is tunewiki.apk
