as stupid as it sounds.. Yes. Exactly the way I stated. Let the app load like it's supposed to, then turn app off completely, and back on for the second time. After apk finishes initializing the second time, all data should do as needed. Oh, I'm not sure you can have an open tether with this phone.. May NEED to use pass code encryption as well

I tried data not running to the other device password don't work I'm using lollipop themed ROM

For kicks & giggles have you tried my ROM?

If you change the SSID name, you have to change password too, I think. My pics in post #4 are exactly what I use for flawless function.. ..OH! Reboot your other device and don't try to connect until after 2nd tether startup (Tablet, PC, PS3, ect..)

go for it, ya might like it! BrittNearl's ROM was made way before I restarted mine and our ROMs are 2 different animals (I feel). Different kernels too. And ppl been asking me to make an LP theme, but it depends on the upcoming ROMs & development available.. Dunno if I should yet. I'd love to see a successful CM or AOSP kicking [emoji41]

Do I have to update partition since his ROM had the scripts with ROM oh u will see a kk ROM soon u saw how fast the twrp was made blow me away only an hour to make phen is a great dev I'm proud of him

only if you went from JB 4.1.2 to KK without updating them already. If you got the phone with KK preinstalled, then no. Ur good. Just flash my JollyRoger4G ROM & KillerKobalt4G zips

Huh.. 1. which APK's are missing? [emoji32] 2. did ya flash SuperR's partition updater zip for just in case? 3. Did u flash only the ROM first and let it full boot before flashing the Theme? I only ask cuz JAWeat411 had no problems installing, and it seemed that with this phone I wasn't able to do multiple flashes before boot unlike many other devices which previously had no such issues - one at a time. I just thought it was a Philz thing...
Last thing I can think of - see if Philz Recovery flashes it correctly, cuz maybe there's an unknown flaw in TWRP we're unaware of at this moment.. If anyone else is having the same problems, let me know.

You won't find the APK's without converting system.tar.a to a regular .tar file. This device has been weird.. Try one zip & reboot each time and lemme know how it turns out? I assumed the inability to do multiple flashes before reboot hasn't worked with this device so far (due to a recovery thing), it only would seem to process the last zip flashed. [emoji28]

My data is slow right now I can't open the zip that said tar probably going to stay on lollipop theme

There are several files in my ROM zip that end in ".tar" & ".tar.a".. You might be overthinking it. Flash just the partition.zip then reboot to recovery. Then flash the ROM only & reboot fully. Flash theme afterwards.. Enjoy. [emoji41]

If you wanna open the zip, extract the system.tar.a to to SD and change it to "system.tar" (no parenthesis). That makes it a .tar file archive (like a .zip) that can have all individual files extracted for viewing & modifications. [emoji56]

The tar file showing 0 mb hmmm when flashing it flashes in 1 second something not right can u confirm by wiping and reflashing with twrp

Thanks bro! That hotspot should kick butt too. [emoji12] Took a while to finish.. LOTS of files/details to change and add in making it what it is. And yeah, the problem is TWRP. Switch to philz until it's fixed. Wouldn't wipe or restore correctly. Installed zips sometimes.. Had to revert to philz just to restore a backup correctly
