Root Stock 5.0.2 ROM?

I updated my stock ROM to 5.1.1 through the flashable zip but Xposed did not play well with it. I then flashed the CyanogenMod 12.1 beta zip and it's working fine but I just miss all the stock features of my original stock ROM.

did you make a back up of it in TWRP before you updated to 5.1.1?

I have a backup of 5.02 but wouldnt that include my personal info? I mean I'd love to help if I could but I really dont want to sacrifice personal info...

I believe when you pull the backup you just don't include the /data portion, so it is clean. You could test this theory before releasing it by making a second backup without /data (backup twice, one with data and once without) then restore to the version without /data. If it is clean you are safe to give out, other wise I wouldn't. If it matters I have the Tmobile variant.

What he said. If you do possibly have a clean backup then you would be helping a lot of people.

ah i see...well i can try making a second backup and see if its free of my personal stuff by not backing up the data...only problem is i have the metro variant...also would not backing up the data prevent you from getting my imei also right?

Well the Metro and TMobile models both have ROMs that are interchangeable, completely identical devices. And yes you are corect about the IMEI

yeah i know they are damn near identical phones, but i swear i read somewhere in another thread (possibly on xda) that someone flashed a metro backup on a tmob stylo (or could have been vice versa) and it bricked their phone...

but as long as i can get a backup free of my personal info id be happy to help if it'll work...

Please please please lol

That's not quite true. Tmobile has its own bloat. Metro has it's own bloat.

FYI: anyone that puts up a backup. Don't have the EFS in it. You'll kill others radios.

Metro PCS 5.0.2 Stock ROM.

Here is a fresh stock "rooted" version of the Metro 5.0.2 ROM
You can easily Unroot it by uninstalling the Super SU App.
I haven't added or modified anything in this ROM.
If anyone knows how to turn it into an installable ROM go for it.

WARNING!!

I am not responsible for what you choose to do with your phone.
If you use this back up and mess up your phone it is your problem, Your fault. It is not my problem nor my fault. I take no responsibility for your choices and your mess ups.

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING!!

How to use

1. Download the .rar from this link. You will need a way to unzip (winrar or 7-zip) it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8DvSEW95Chhb2FxdzRtRlRsRms/view?usp=sharing

2. unzip it.

3. find your TWRP backup folder.

4. go to the last folder in side your TWRP backup folder, It usually has a bunch of numbers

5. Move the folder you uziped marked 502 with all its content in side to that last TWRP Back up folder.

6. boot into recover.

7. MAKE A BACK UP OF YOUR CURRENT ROM. REMEMBER BACK, BACK, BACK BEFORE DOING ANYTHING WITH YOUR PHONE YOU KNUCKLE HEAD!!!

8. Now go to "RESTORE" and do a restore using the folder marked "502"

9. After it finishes doing the restore, I suggest doing a factory restore from WIPE. Just to make sure its clean and there isn't any gunk in the system.

10. reboot system and set it up. Everything should work fine.

Thank you for this donation! Can anyone confirm this works?

It worked for me, was even able to install and activate xposed. Just each module I personally wanted to use, would not work. I was able to use other modules though.

I had to download the lollipop 5.0 xposed of course though. As well as the xposdd helper to disable the two lg apps, not 100% that was needed though. Did NOT get storage errors or any force closes either.

I sadly restored my 5.1.1 backup though. Having this backup is still helpful though.

Does anyone have an actual T-Mobile stock ROM? The metropcs can be used for a T-Mobile phone, but definitely needs some work! Less someone can or has an LG g stylo original stock ROM backup 5.0.2 would just be appreciated!

needs some work? it's the same ROM other than the bloatware.

That's what I'm saying! So simple! Sorry to have mislead you. It works great! Just would like a T-Mobile backup! Myself, I got excited about root that I too, forgot to make a backup for myself!
