Normally I would never knock a developers module. But that LG theme engine lite is pure adware trash. I hope people have enough sense to not even bother with it. It is so ad intrusive I will go as far as to suggest users give the developer no respect and not bother buying the "full" version...if there is such a thing.

I'm using a AdAway, Xposed MinMinGuard and My Android Tools Pro. I don't have any ads, trackers or unwanted broadcast receivers. I'm running absolutely clean.

I agree with you on the crap, but as long as you keep it in check. Plus I haven't got around to themeing it myself.

lol it bombarded me with garbage at every click. And it wasnt even all that detailed on themeing ability. And I have a huge hosts file in place to block most ads. Im probably lucky I had that hosts File in place.

sorry for going off topic, but does anyone know of a good way to make this device less hot during playing games like candy crush and the like? I have been looking for mods, but it seems every one i have tried doesn't do all that much to reduce the heat. any response would be appreciated!

Shutdown/restrict background processes. Turn brightness down.

Take your battery and inspect it. Is it swollen, warping, or anything from normal? Definitely don't need it leaking or "going boom-boom!"

You can try "My Android Tools" by WanQi from Play Store. Just don't go bonkers disabling everything, you can corrupt yoyr phone. There's a backup feature in app, use it. If you need help with working the app, let me know.

@Curtis1973 the "my android tools pro" has a feature that starts up the app after an install is complete. So you can disable the things you don't want BEFORE the new app ever gets ran, plus it'll startup after upgrades too!! Best app I ever put on my phone, which is also on all 7 of my other devices. The "MinMinGuard" is a great minimally invovled yes/no adblocker. "AdAway" you probably know about already. But the protection that the 3 apps provide together is staggering, "it'll bring a tear to your eye" (LOL). I support the apps I believe in and use, but I decide if an ad (read marketing crap) appears/runs/shows up on my phone. Yes there is way too much adware garbage put out on the market, which is making hostile android users that will go to any lengths to eradicate that crap.

Each android user is different. So it comes down to the basic questions, that everyone should ask, "Do I know what I am putting on my device?" and "Do I know what I am allowing the apps to do/access? (Did I even look at the permissions?)". That's why I constantly say "read, read, read". Learning is wonderful thing.

Here are some launcher themes for the stock lg launcher. You can use them after using tweakbox to access hidden lg launcher menu. Xperia Z3 theme,HTC and SGS5,Precision. Install, long press menu key while on home screen to access theme menu. From there select the theme.

Thanks for sharing the tweakbox theme! Luvin it! Now on to theming the stock LG launcher. I usually load Apex after flashing a new rom. Stock home launcher don't offer much in customization, but I'm willing to try something different. Thanks for the "tweak"!

Having trouble getting theme to change. Followed your directions, lg hidden menu is enabled, still can't change the icons from stock. Don't get it. Apex is calling my name..again!

All I did was select the theme and apply. Might need to wipe cache, dalvik, then reboot and apply themes. Worked fine for me. Im using xperia launcher now. I was just experimenting with these to see just how intact and universal the lg os really is. They take things out in some devices and add things in others. Our device still has some elements functioning. Slightly crippled but working.
