Help Live Wallpaper Failure

So I know live wallpapers eat battery and all but I don't really use my phone all that much and this was my favorite feature once I saw my first Android phone. That said, I recently got the galaxy core prime with 5.1.1 and every other app works fine except any live wallpaper. I have several all from different developers and a couple not from the play store. All of them will install and run their configuration but once you try to apply it it either gives an error or fails entirely. I've also gone to the wallpaper setting screen and they are all listed but when I try to use it it says application not installed. I've tried a few solutions I found on Google to no avail. Thanks for any help.

I don't have a Samsung, but we have 4 different Nexus devices all on 5.1.1 and all run live wallpapers. They can be just a bit buggy, probably because they're fairly elaborate versions. But they generally run fine.

You may be having trouble because of conflict with the Touchwiz UI. Two suggestions:

1. Try uninstalling/reinstalling. But uninstall like this:
Settings > Apps > Select app > Force stop > Clear cache > Clear data > Uninstall.
Reboot the phone when done.

2. Try a different launcher. Nova is, of course, *highly* recommended.

BTW, it's not true that live wallpapers use power. They actually use very little, and only while active on-screen. If you can't see the wallpaper, it's inactive and using no power at all.

Thanks for the advice. Downloading nova now. I find it boggling to have a different 'desktop' if you will without installing a new OS. Pretty cool. Will report results soon. :)

There's always live wallpapers included with a phone, at least for as long as I can remember. I imagine yours is no exception. Have you tried those included live wallpapers? Are you saying even those fail, that NO live wallpapers will run?
