Root [H631/MS631] TWRP 2.8.7.0 touch recovery LG G Stylo

That the did you enable oem unlock under dev. Option before flashing TWRP?
I believe since the device shipped with 10I it's one of the first devices we've encountered with the new panels. The kernel the current TWRP uses is from 10D/10E which doesn't support the newer stylo revisions. You can look at the changes here https://github.com/TeamRegular/andr...mmit/0b2b373f60210fe695abf2b94a35feb640a9bf05

I'll go ahead and make a new TWRP to support these new devices. I wonder why they made new devices though.

Just want to point out that "Unjustified Dev" made that discovery.

this very much this...should those of us with the first shipment/old panel be worried about panel failure or something? i haven't had any issues with mine but hearing this makes me worry...

Nah, it was most likely a cost cutting measure. Happens all the time if they can source cheaper components.

so by this logic i can assume my panel from the first batch is better?
The new devices also have different touchscreens, but I don't think there's much of a difference though. My device LG F60 is low end and has a melfas touchscreen mit200 and new Stylo revision has a mit300 and I have no issues whatsoever with touch feeling cheap or anything. The first revision uses LG's typical Synaptics touchscreen they've had in many devices one being the G3. Now the LCD, the first Stylo revision use a LCD made by LGthemselves . The new revisions use Dongbu Hitek http://www.dongbuhitek.co.kr/display/SmallLDI.asp . So yeah it's probably cheaper to buy the panels from Dongbu than to manufacturer their own.

Sorry for staying off topic. So the new lcd is with tft only no ips tft/tfd?

I see hes making a new twrp for the 10i version sorry for the confusion
Yeah got the same exact error you do hopefully we can get something working for us atleast the root method works for the newer shipment of stylos. Comparing to my friends older stylo I actually like the new display better. But yeah recovery is borked haha. I'd be willing to test new builds when available and let you guys know how it goes thankfully I was smart enough to keep a backup of my stock recovery.
