Hey guys,I'm new to using media cards. I've selected sd card as my default media storage;and the pictures it took is not showing in my gallery. I only see the photos I took in another folder. When I remove the sd card from my droid, the folder disappears. What does this mean?
Do I have to make a copy to see my photos in my camera roll?

This is my first android

Welcome to Android Forums.

If you tell us what device you are using we can move your question to the forum where users of that device and its apps visit.

As an example ... I use a Droid Turbo.

I think that you need to go to settings in the Camera.
there you tell that 'app' where to store the pictures you took.

Normally two choices, "Device" meaning internal storage, or "extSDcard" meaning the card you plugged in.

I have the same condition with the installed gallery app. The photos DO show up, eventually...
You could try a third party gallery app, such as QuickPic or Piktures, and your pfotos will show up.

I think you will find different solutions based on different apps and the same camera app is not preinstalled on all devices.

It is STRONGLY recommended that you do no use QuickPic ... the new owner is troublesome.

I'm.not.using any app,my device is a s3. I took a photo it went to the sd folder, and.not to the camera folder. I want to know why it did That, why didn't it make a copy. E.g. go to both internal and sd.

This thread was moved to the forum dedicated to discussing your phone. Other users of the pre-installed app can be found here.

Good luck.

Yippy and thank you. I kind of understand now. I thought it had been hidden somewhere in my phone. I realized that when the media card is removed, the photos are no longer there.
