First, I'm leaning towards the camp of "they wont charge extra for 4G.
But secondly, by following the stock market over the years, I've learned to listen with a different ear when ANY CEO speaks.

Thirdly, I think it's important that people understand that he never said anything to the effect of "we will not charge extra for 4G.:)
 
Read the OZCar article (even though I know it's crap). We've seen that info on the boards here and I wouldn't be surprised if they got it from us. All that email proves is that there could be seperate billing for the hotspot service. Even if Sprint has a way to charge seperately for the services, it doesn't necessarily mean the total would be higher than the current plans.

If they price the plan higher, they could lose a lot of potential customers.
 
the headphone i use are Exp (over $200) ones made by shure, but then again, i have to use them in noisy nightclubs (yeah i use earbuds while djing, but they are pro stage monitoring ones and it looks cool b/c it looks like im doing it w/ out any headphones from the dance floor)

You must have missed the fact that overpaying for anything obviously makes you that much cooler... Lol. Tell that to people that pay bajillions of dollars to atnt for the iPhone...?

Wednesday cannot come soon enough...

Wow...so I have a family plan with 3 Pres and 1 pixi. According to the pictures, I would have to switch the entire family plan to one that accommodates the "evo" plan.

That is complete CRAP. These plans better not be more expensive than what i pay now...i'm gonna be really, really upset with sprint...ESPECIALLY if i don't even get 4g.

I don't feel that sprint is in any position to jack the normal rates on their plans for this phone, yet... They need to attract people, not scare them further away... I am hoping the plans stay the same or i might reconsider my decision to pay a final big check to vzw and move over to the evo...

It is all speculation, but I'm sure it only has to do with the input into the system to allow the phone to access the 4g network and about the possible /probable cost of the wifi hotspot feature, not a raise in price...
 
TRYING to stay ON-topic . . . so nobody has any idea about the red accents on the back? I really don't care what color the "guts" are, I just hate to see any red accents on the outside. Am I alone in thinking that some yellow "Sprint" accents wouldn't be totally out-of-line? If they were subtle, of course--nothing over-the-top.
 
Personally, I like them. Black would be great, too, but I like the little bit of flare that they add. To each his own, though! :)
 
i don't like the way they have "plans designed for the HTC EVO 4G"

really beginning to look like it's gonna cost more for 4g.

It would be a great idea to make these accent parts user-replaceable so you could customize your Evo.

For example: A lot of girls would dig a pink ring around their camera and near their kickstand. Everyone likes to make their stuff their own.
 
makes them sound like the music industry when they said "with the introduction of cd's, we'll be able to lower the cost of purchasing music to the consumer and pass the savings to you"

that never happened until music piracy became rampant.

its not an interchangeable part. its the back of the phone without the cover on. they just made the backcover that way so you can see a little bit of the red.
 
1. I don't think they will charge more for the plan. I think it is possible that they may need to create a new plan for the evo to make it work with their system, but I still think that the price will stay the same.
2. I say the 'big news' on the 12th will be one of two things. Most likely will be that the 4g network is more developed than anybody thinks, I don't have any inside info and don't even really know much about 4g other than it is fast, but this is what my gut is saying. With this might be a pre installed video chat program, wouldn't it be cool if that was how the event started...with Dan Hesse not there but talking to everybody on live video chat? Less likely I say will be some kind of memory upgrade from the previously released specs....be it ROM, RAM or storage.

And as a new guy in this forum, just perusing the site. And as a person who actively posts to over twenty forums, may I say this?

For a bunch of phone geeks, this is maybe the second most hostile forum I've experienced. The only one I've seen that beats this forum is specifically dedicated to hostility. That's a fun forum, but you know what's what when you get there.
