Help Texting problem

I am having problems with texting since my phone has been updated to 5.11 which is on the Vodafone network, product code:SM-910FZKEVOD.
The problem is the keyboard stops working and the phone reboots and then locks screen.

Does anyone have any ideas. My keyboard is SwiftKey and works flawlessly on every other app except the for the stock messaging app.

The first piece of advice would be to clear any caches to make sure that something is not hanging around from the previous version of the operating system. The more extreme version of this advice would be to perform a factory reset (just remember to backup ALL your data before doing this).

However, if you feel like experimenting a bit... Here is what I would try:
1. Switch the keyboard back to stock and try the messaging app again. If this works then you know the problem is swiftkey and then you can try to just clear the cache/data of that one app.
2. Use a different messaging app (there are many in the App Store). Perhaps this is a problem you can live with.

Thanks for your advice, I will try the stock keyboard as I have already cleaned the cache and last resort a factory reset or like you said try another app.
