Just downloaded Weathebug Elite. Said "Purchased" above the star rating. I clicked through and I now have my official copy back.
 
I wonder how long it will take to roll it out to all Eris users. Not sure how many of these phones are out there and how big the batches will be.
 
Anyone could tell me the best way to back up contacts and calendar?

I have copyed my SD card to a PC, and I saved my contact on gmail.

I am not sure how to save the calendar.

When Eris is updated will calendar and contact data on GOOGLE erased?
(I know on the phone it will be erased....)

Your google data is safe. make sure your contacts are saved as a google contact and not the phone.
 
I don't know why I'm so excited. I already have 2.1 (version 3) and it works well. Have had the silent call once or twice, but it is hard to know if I really had it or it was just the poor signal where I live. (Had just pulled into my driveway).

Your contacts and calendar will be backed up on your gmail account. After the update, you will go back through the setup as you did when you first got the phone. When you put in your gmail info it will all be synced back with your phone. Hope this helps you :)
 
Can't imagine what the Eris forum will become if 2.1 actually shows. We'll have to start a new Official 2.1 Bugs/Problems thread.

My God the kittens are all giving a big sigh or relief!

The silent call is the ONLY thing that drives me nuts about the Eris. Everything else is working wonderfully. Hope the OTA fixes that!
