Help Smart Beam

Has anyone gotten the Lg Smart Beam to work?

I have 2 LG Volts & they connect with each other & share files perfectly, but I can't get the LG G Stylo to connect at all.

Why wouldn't you use wifi direct its faster?

I use Es File Explorer which is pretty decent,but was just curious if anyone has been able to use the smart beam successfully.

How exactly do you transfer files using WiFi direct?
I could get the phones to see each other,Even connect to each other. But I don't see an option that says WiFi direct when I try to share a file.

I used an app from playstore called superbeam. I also used total commander. These worked on my metro stock rom.
